So there I was again, standing outside the third music room's doors the next day. I shouldn't have come... I told myself I don't want to be hurt again. My heart wasn't that strong, though. What if he really does like me? What if me forgetting about him was destroying any chances of us being together.
After Haruhi had left, I realized that no matter what, my father would always see me as money. So I shouldn't care what he thought, since he really didn't care about me at all.
Slowly, I opened the doors. It was just a normal day in the host club. Right as I walked in, Kyouya walked by. Looking up at me from his computer, he stop dead in his tracks. He smiled a genuine smile at me.
"Now there's a face I didn't think I'd see again!" He tried to hide his pleasure, but my expertly trained ears caught it anyway. "I thought you would hate me for life."
"My hearts not really that strong." I rubbed the back of my neck. "I guess it forced me to come back here."
"I guess I like your heart then." Still smiling, he motioned for me to sit. Catching Haruhi's eye, I smiled, and she returned it. Going back to Kyouya, I whispered quietly.
"I see why Tamaki likes her, and all the girls," I told him, "She's really kind, and can see pretty deep into your being." Kyouya just nodded, never taking his eyes off me.
So we spent the rest of the day talking. Just when I got home, my cell phone rang. Looking at the number, I realized it was my father's.
"Tomorrow," he said, "I am coming. I will meet you at whatever you happen to be doing at 4:00 tomorrow." And that was all he said before he hung up.
I was standing outside the gates of a grand school. It shined like a school made of crystal, and it goes by the name of Ouran academy. I wish it would open its golden gates for me and tell me I’m just as important as the rich spoiled brats that walk in its gleaming hall walls. In my opinion it’s taking its precious time telling me, so today I’ll take it in to my own hands. I skipped along the gate until I was on the back side of the school. I saw my two friends waiting for me in at the meeting spot. Arai and Reiji were waiting for my explanation for dragging them here. It was early morning before our school, Ouran public high school, was opened.
“Annetta? What’s the deal dude, I woke up way too early to run to the other side of town. I don’t see a point in this, do you Arai?”
Arai was just staring at the school, lost in his only thoughts. This caused a smug smile to creep upon my face. I knew this was going to interest him more than other people. That’s why I decided to tell him over other friends. The only reason I decided to tell Reiji was because no matter how annoying, he wouldn’t tell people’s secrets and this was going to be a big secret. “Ok so, I’ll lay it down simple, I want to break into Ouran academy.” It was a very awkward moment, but Arai had snapped out of his trace to stare at me.
“That’s crazy Annetta, plain crazy. Don’t you know how hard it is to get in here?! Beside what’s your point? What do you want to prove?”
“Nothing, I just want to see how the other side lives or at least how it goes to school.” I was making sure Arai was listening before I laid down my excuse. “I also wanted to see my old friend Haruhi. I never get to talk or hang with her since she got into this school”
“I told you already,” Arai was alarmed “Haruhi hasn’t forgot about us; she just joined a..a...Club”
“Well, I’m going to find out what that club is about!” I started to find a safe place to start climbing the fence.
“Hey Reiji, Stop standing there and help me get over the fence.” Reiji didn’t look so confident with my plan, but he walked over to give me a boost. As I made it over with a loud BUMP he told me something from the other side of the bars.
“If they catch you, then I had nothing to do with it” He smiled and waved. Arai was behind him, sulking. I think he likes my plan, but dislikes the idea that he can’t see haruhi. I always knew he still had some feeling left for miss bookworm. I gave him a “sorry” smile and he sighed deeply, but then gave me a smile back.
“I can’t say I never wondered what it is like in there either. Say hi for me.”
“I will Arai! Thank you! Don’t forget guys, you still have to keep guard while I change. No pecking!”
“HAHA, sorry lil bit, you’re no runaway model.” Laughed Reiji
I ignored that comment and walked to a shadow area to slip on the yellow dress. I was very happy with my appearance. I like this canary colored dress. I heard laughing from behind the bush. The guys were on the floor from laughter, I always did have a strange taste in fashion. “Thanks for the support GUYS,” I declared with sarcasm. “Ok, I’m ready to go inside now. You better go to school, and remember to tell them I’m sick or something.”
The guys waved and left me here outside in the shadow of this shining school. I stumbled across the soft green earth to the main entrance. My heels would get stuck in the dirt, so I barely made it when the bell rang. Now it’s part two of my master plan.
I sat on my bed, my knees curled up to my chest and my head resting in my folded arms. Hot tears rolled down my face. My heart felt like it was ripped in two. I wanted to be with Kyouya, but if I was, I would go against my father's wishes and be denied the chance to fullfil my life long dream to be noticed by my father.
But on the other hand, I knew I was in love with Kyouya. I couldn't get him out of my mind. Thinking, I knew the true meaning of the Host Club to please girls for money. To Kyouya, that was probably all I was. A source of money. And until I proved that I was good enough for my father, I was just a way he could make money. I had earned thousands of dollars in contests that I had won.
I wanted somebody who knew how I felt, who knew what I needed, who would make me feel loved and wanted. Just then, I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I yelled. "The door is unlocked."
The door opened and in walked Haruhi, carrying all my stuff. "Kyouya asked me to bring these to you," she explained simply. Sighing, I motioned for her to set the stuff near the door. Putting the load down, she walked over to me.
"He told us that you had to leave in a hurry for something. Everybody else believed him, because he never lies, but some how I knew it wasn't true."
"Haruhi," I started, "I believe everybody had a meaning to their life," I hesitated before going on, "Do you think mine is to just make people money?"
"Of course not!" she sounded shocked that I would even consider the idea. "Every bodies meaning for life is different, but I don't think that anyone's role is just to make people happy while they themselves suffer quietly." I knew she was talking specifically, but I didn't know if what she said was true.
"All anybody seems to get from me is money," I told her, "My father gains profit from me, Kyouya makes money by getting me obsessed with him. Nobody really understands my situation."
"Kyouya really does like you," she said to me, but I just knew it was a lie, "If he really didn't, then why are pictures of you walking in the garden set as his screen saver?" I looked up into her eyes, and I could tell she was sincere. I knew I really wanted to believe her, and my heart raged war with my brain.
"I'll leave you to think," she said and walked toward the door.
"Haruhi," I called after her, and she stopped and turned, "Thanks. For everything." She just smiled and left.
This my third day at Ouran and everything is the usual. Go to class, do work, argue with twins, chat with Haruhi, call twins idiots, you know same stuff.
We're are finished with the project but Hikaru and Kaoru forgot to put the porcelian people on it so I have to go to that little host club of their's. (Porcelian!?! What happened to old fashion paper?)
"Let's see, third music room... They could do so much with this room but instead they use it so girls can look guys and hear them tell the girls some mushy stuff."
I grabbed the door handle turned it and opened the door. Then all these rose petals went flying out. What the heck is up with that!?! But any way I walked into the room and was greeted by a blonde guy with blue eyes in a circus ring leader outfit.
"Welcome m'lady to the Host circus. Oh your the new transfer student." At this point he bowed. "Well let me be the first to welcome you to the host club." When he lifted up his head to kiss my hand he noticed that I had already moved on.
"What do you want?" Hikaru asked.
"You two forgot to put the porcelian people on the project before you left today that's what."
"So you came here to get them? Why couldn't you just wait until tomorow?" asked Kaoru.
"Because why put of something you an do now?" I was starting to get frustrated.
It was at this point that a boy yelled, "Look at me."
There was a boy with blonde hair and brown eyes, who looked like a elementry school student but was actually a third year, on a tight rope. The rope was only two feet off the ground and the boy was having a hard time balancing on the rope. When he slipped off a tall quiet guy caught him.
"Gee thanks Takashi!"
"No problem." Takashi said in a deep voice.
"OOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!! THAT'S SO CUTE MORI-SENPAI AND HONEY-SENPAI!!!!" Squealed the three girls watching.
"Amatures." I walked over to the tight rope. "You're trying too hard."
"Uh?" All of them in unison.
"You're trying too hard to balance on the rope. You think to much about not falling off and not enough on just walking."
In response I just got blank stares.
"*sigh* Like this." I climbed the stool to the little platform farthest away from the group of clueless students. When I stepped on to the rope and walked efffortlessly across everyone in the room turned and stared in awe. "See. Now you try."
Mori lifted Honey on to the rope again. Once he was on the rope he looked down and held out his arms.
"No...look at me." I grabbed his face and lifted it so he was looking at me. "Now pretend that your walking on the ground walk towards me." I began to walk backwards gently guiding him across the rope. He slipped at one point but caught him. Then made it to the other side without him falling off again. He stubbled once or twice but didn't fall. "Very nicely done Honey-senpai."
"Yes very nice great job." The girls came rushing over showering him with compliments and hugs. Mori came over and said, "Good job."
"I was not aware that our new student was a ninja." The blonde guy who had greeted me had obviously gotten over his rejection and made his way here.
"What would make you think I'm a ninja?"
"Why your talent of sneakiness of course." Tamaki replied.
"Just because she walks away while your not paying attention does not make her a master of sneakiness." The twins told him simmotaniously-.
Keep in mind that this whole time Hikaru,Kaoru, and Tamaki where three feet behind me.
"There right you know." I said suddenly popping up behind them.
"Waaaahhhh!" They all screamed.
"Are you really a ninja Genji?" One of the girl's asked me.
"Nope." I promptly answered.
"Genji-chan, what else can you do?" Honey asked.
"Let's see..." I racked my brain pick my top few. "My talents lie mostly in acrobatics but I can also throw knives, shuriken, I know different poisons and cures, various fighting techinques...stuff like that."
"I thought you were trying to convince us that you weren't a ninja." Haruhi emphasied the "weren't."
"Well regaurdless, I would like to get to know you better Miss. Ninja. Why don't you come and let me be your host. For free." Tamaki gently took my hand and kissed it.
At the phrase "for free" the boy I knew as Kyouya snapped his pencil. I was about to say hell no but then my watch beeped. I looked at it and relized what time it was.
"I'M LATE!!!!!!!" I flung my hand out of Tamaki-senpai's hand and accidently hit his nose and I ran out the door.
"What do thinks she late for Mori?" Honey asked from atop Mori.
The twins then put on thier devil smiles and said, "Let's follow her and find out.
"I don't know about this guys, I-" But then Haruhi relized they had already left. "May be I should follow them to make sure they don't get in trouble."
