From then on I stuck with Kyouya. Being a VIP member, I often hung out with the club long after it had closed for the day. We would play commoner games, work on homework, and just talk about life. I also noticed more and more how much Tamaki loved Haruhi.
One day, I was thinking about the assignment from my father, and how hopeless it was looking. A thought occured to me as I walked into the Host Club. Why don't I tell Kyouya! I thought very hard about it, and came to the conclusion that I couldn't tell him everything, but I would give a small, blank warning.
So I told him that I wanted to talk to him away from everyone else. We walked down to one of the gardens, which was full of fall blossoms.
"You probably already know my fathers business, correct?" I asked. He pushed back his glasses with two fingers.
"Of course," he replied bluntly.
"Well, as you probably also know, I am the middle child, with an older and younger brother. Obviously, I'm not noticed often, and not just because of the family business. My older brother is destined to inherit the family business, and my younger brother is told to work harder, so that he may out shine my older brother. I am not speacial in anyway to my father. I would do anything to be noticed." My eyes stung as I held back tears.
"I'm sure that's not true, for you must be smarter than your younger brother," he told me.
"I am only smarter because I was born earlier. That means nothing to my father."
"You are special to me,"
"That means nothing!" I almost yelled at him, "I want to be different! I want to stand out..." At that moment, something in my brain clicked. I wasn't different. If anything, I was becoming less different. I was in love with a man who would probably never love me back. The whole Host Club flirted with girls to make money.
"What am I doing?" I asked my self quietly, "What have I been thinking these last few weeks? This is the stupidest thing I have ever done. " I stopped walking, and after a few steps, he did, too.
"I went against my father's wishes. I became another screeming fan girl who fell in love with a man who probably will never love me back. I'm only VIP because I know Haruhi's big secret! I've lost sight of my goals and dreams. And now I realize, after I thought that I actually wasn't alone in the world, that I really am. Now that old pain just hurts worse."
So I ran. I didn't care about my stuff, still back in the third music room. I wanted to go home, where the apartment waited, quietly stating the horrible truth. No one truely noticed me. All I am in my fathers eyes is nothing, and when my father finds out how horribly I failed my assignment, I'll be worse than nothing. I'll be scum.
((hope you don't mind im posting...))
As i walked into that third music room, it was like a dream. I was in heaven. There sat seven cute boys. "welcome to the ouran high school host club." said the blondie in the middle, i assumed he was the leader."my name is Tamaki. which host would you like to try?" he asked smiling attractivly. There was a small blonde boy sitting in friont of a tall dark haired boy who was unbeleivably handsome. "i see you've noticed some of our hosts. That over there is Hani, and that behind him is mori-san." I tapped my chin. "i think i'll try...Mori." i asked blushing. He quietly sat down on a couch and waved for me to join him...
I walked into the host club that day, greeted by Kyouya this time. "I want to see Tamaki today," I told him.
He looked at me and smiled. "But you only get a free subscription to me. For Tamaki, it's $50 for a group cession or $100 for a private session." I pulled out my $100 bill from the other day.
"I would like a private session." I handed him the money and walked over to Tamaki.
"Whatever would make you ask for me, my princess?" he asked sweetly.
"I want to see why you and Kyouya are like best friends, but yet total opposites," I explained, "Maybe it's true that opposites atract in love, or maybe that's only atoms."
He took my hand and kissed it, "It can mean anything you want it to mean, my smart little angel." I pulled my hand away quickly.
"If you want to impress me you should know that I find that kind of thing disgusting. Please, pretend like your not working, like we're just talking out side of this business."
"That can be done," he told me simply. "So, may I hear your backround. Kyouya refuses to give out any information on you."
"I do not wish to share with you anything but that I am a middle child in a wealthy family, to be inherited by my older brother." I didn't want to give him any information,...just yet.
"Well, if I were to ask you on a date, how would you respond?" he asked. The question was perfect for my hidden cause.
"I wouldn't be able to turn you down. I don't like to hurt others hearts, especially if I do not already have some one who's heart would be broken by saying yes."
"You do realize that I meant that as just a question, I'm not actually asking you out?" I retained my cool face, but inside my head I cursed. Normally those were pick up lines for if someone was asking you out.
"Yes, I do. And you do realize that if you actually ment it, I probably would have gotten my heart ripped in two, one half not wanting to break your heart, and the other half not wanting to give up Kyouya?"
"Of course, that is why I did not ask you out in the first place. Kyouya never retains information on VIP customers like your self. He must really like you in return."
"Now I am VIP? Because I know a certain someones very important secret." I batted my eyelashes in a mischivious, almost flirty way. Tamaki's eyes drifted toward Haruhi, who was talking to three girls. Burried deep within his eyes, I saw a spark of something. It looked like when a guy looks at a girl he likes. So Tamaki like Haruhi? This wasn't good news for me...
At all.

Today I went to the Host club> I will write this as if we were there right now, well here goes.
I pause in front of the third music room to turn off my walkman, and think,
"After today none of the girls will bug me about never going to the host club." I unplug my headphones, flick my light gold curls over my shoulder, take a deep breath and walk in.
"Welcome!" a choras of male voices almost sing. A tall blond boy I recitnize as Tamaki Soah dances over to me, and asks what type of boy I like best. I tell them to choose, and a small guy comes over and says
"Wow, you're smaller then me! Come on I'll be you're host! I'm Honey!"
He dragged me over to a sofa and sat me down. "what's your name, and how old are you."
"My name is Ami, and I'm 17." I look around, a lot of the girls in school are here wasting time they could be using doing something useful. Honey interups my thoughts "I'm 18, would you like some cake?" He is hopping up and down in his seat at the thought of cake. Have I menshined I'm the only girl Honey is hosting today? "no" I anserw, "I don't like cake..."
"Oh" he says, "do you want to hold my Bun-Bun?" He holds out a stuffed bunny,
"No thanks" I say "I don't like bunnys"
"If you don't like cake or bunnys" Honey starts "What do you like?"
"a lot of things" I respond, "like music, and drawing, and reading."
"Do you sing alot?"
"yes"
"Can you draw really well?"
"I geuss..."
"Can you draw me?"
"Sure!" I say and smile, pulling out my sketch book.
After I draw for a few minets Honey starts to skwirm. I look at my watch and curse "Oh no, I'm late! I have to go! Bye Honey"
I run out of the room before Honey can ask what I'm late to.
Well, I have to go now

I sat at the small table in my three room apartment. My head was held up by my hands as I thought of the events that happened before I left home.
My family owned a large private business. I had two brothers, one older, one younger. Being the middle child, I was often ignored. My older brother was to inherit the family business, and my younger brother was often told to try harder, so he may out shine my older brother. Mainly, there was no time for me.
But recently, I was told my father planned to buy a large business. I was sent away with a small amount of money and my tuition to Ouran paid. So I rented this small apartment not far from the school. With most of the money spent on uniforms, I depended on the weekly small amount of cash my father promised for food. No more fancy sushi or crab for me.
I got so little because all the money was needed to buy the business, but I had no clue what business he planned to buy, though it didn't bother me. Plus, maybe if I could show that I could live like a commoner, maybe my father would pay a little more attention to me.
Just then I heard a knock on my door. Getting up, I opened the door. There stood Haruhi, holding a box of sushi.
"Hi! I heard I had a new neighbor, and..." she stopped when she saw me. Quickly, she hid the sushi behind her back. "Oh! Zaphea! I didn't expect to see you here."
"I live here now," I told her casually, "Please, come in." Haruhi's eyes widened in surprize. I waited for her to start laughing, but she never did.
"I'll explain as we eat that sushi that I suppose you ment to give me as a house warming gift."
"You're going to eat commoner food?" she asked. I laughed.
"I'll be eating it the rest of the time I attend Ouran." So we sat down and I explained to her why I lived here and why I had to eat commoner food.
"You won't tell anyone, will you?" I asked, almost pleading. Should word of this get around, I would be the school laughing stock.
She just smiled, "You keep my secret and I'll keep your's." I smiled back. That was a real relief. My mind drifted to Kyouya and what he would think, but I pulled it back to reality.
After Haruhi left, I sat on my bed. I was about to get up to get a shower, when the phone rang. Picking it up, the voice on the other end belonged to my father. My eyes widened in surprize.
"I will give you more information now," he said, "then I need you to do something for me. I would have asked one of your brothers to do this, but I need you in particular."
So I listened. All I could tell him at the end was, "Yes, father, I understand."
