4:00... I was normally at the host club during that time. I knew I would be in huge trouble with my father, and not just the kind commoners get in, where they get grounded or anything. No, my father was much worse.
I couldn't bring myself to ask the club to lie for me, but I couldn't just not go to the Host Club. Not so soon after Kyouya had thought I left. Espeacially since the twins and Haruhi were in my class, so they could say I wasn't sick. There was nothing I could do but carry it out.
The day went by too fast. Finally, the bell rang. I stood up and started to walk with Haruhi and the twins toward the third music room. Well, it was more like a jog, since we had to get there before the screaming fan girls did.
"Are you feeling alright today, Zaphea?" Haruhi asked. I sighed, since I should have known she would sense my discomfort.
"I'm fine," I replied bluntly. All too soon we were at the music room doors. We opened the doors, and suddenly, three uniforms were flying past me. I looked around at the restaurant set up. Great, now my father would know I was hanging around a bunch of idiots.
"Three... two... one..." I counted down softly under my breath.
"TAMAKI!" I heard the twins and Haruhi yell behind me. I couldn't help but smile.
"YOU WANT HER TO STAY IN THIS CLUB DON'T YOU!?" the twins yelled in sync.
"Of course I do!" Tamaki looked taken aback in his waiter's uniform.
"THEN STOP GETTING HER FEMALE CLOTHES FOR THE CLUB!" Looking around, I spotted Kyouya in a chef's uniform.
"You're too skinny for anyone to trust your cooking," I tried to sound cheerful. Apparently it worked.
"What would me being skinny have anything to do with my cooking?" he smiled back.
"Haven't you ever heard the saying 'never trust a skinny chef'?" I asked.
"I don't believe I have."
"Think about it," I winked and looked at the set up. I looked at the clock, trying to make it look casual.
"It's about 3:30," I said to Tamaki, "Maybe you should think about opening the doors?"
"Okay, everybody!" he yelled, "Poses!"
So everybody was standing. Some how the twins had gotten Haruhi a boys uniform. Since I didn't have a uniform, I just stood to the side.
"Come over here, Zaphea!" called Honey, "Pose with us!" Sighing, I put on a smile and walked over to stand between Kyouya and Mori, who had honey on his shoulders.
Tamaki pushed what we called the "secret button" and the doors opened and cherry blossom petals flew out as girls walked in.
"Welcome to the Host Club Cafe!" Tamaki announced. And so the day began.
Me and Kyouya walked around, offering pastries and coffee to the girls, who would buy them from us.
Nervously, I glanced at the clock. Since the main rush was normally at the opening, girls were trickling out slowly. Maybe only 3/4 of the original amount of girls remained. I gasped when I saw the time.
3:57. I had 3 minutes.
