I brushed my dyed black hair out of my face and tied it back, scowling the entire time.
"Be thankful," Uncle Saku said. "The head of the family is being generous letting you come to the feast. It's the first time you'll meet the others in the Zodiac. Plus you'll learn about the rat girl." I nodded. That was my main goal, to learn about the rat. I heard she was sickly and weak, but seeing is believing.
I had slipped into a red turtle-neck and black cargo pants. All the black accented my red eyes perfectly. So I put on some lightly used sneakers and walked out the door.

I walked up to the banquet hall. Everyone was there already, and they appeared to be waiting for something as I walked in. The time had said 6:30...
The head of the family appeared from nowhere and pulled off my bracelet. I struggled to keep my form from changing, but I failed.
"This is why we don't befriend the cat," the head hissed to the other zodiac members.
My shirt ripped, and all that was left on me was the cargo pants. I was an orange monster. All I could do was run.
