BAHD Chapter 20: Hollow Angels

Dammit I hate this chapter...
I've finished my finals this week, so I MIGHT have more time for my own stuff ^^

Hollow Angels
Chapter 20

"Let go of me already! I can walk on my own now!" Kalon shoved Dimi away from him, making them both stumble. Dimi regained balance, grinning like an idiot.
"Are you sure? 'Cause I can carry you!" Dimi said, poking fun.
"You're the last person in the world I would ever--ever--want carrying me," Kalon said, meaning every word of it. Dimi shrugged.
"I don't know Kalon! Wouldn't you trust these sweet guns with the precious cargo of your body?" Dimi flexed his arms, attempting to make a pose. Kalon shuddered.
"Hell no!" he yelled, putting a half-smoked cigarette in his mouth and lighting it.
"Aww, come on!" Dimi whined, flexing harder, trying to make himself look bigger. "I worked really hard to get these arms in the shape they're in! Ryo said they were impressive!"
"Ryo lies to you to make you feel better about yourself," Kalon said, inhaling his last cigarette. "Wouldn't surprise me if he did say that. I bet Leo told you the same thing?"
"Yeah! And Caza didn't even look!" Dimi continued to flex his arms as they walked slowly. He tried comparing his arms to Kalons, but Kalon kept pulling his arm away whenever he came near it. Dimi noticed Kalon's left arm was still bleeding from the small stab wound. He felt a small pang of guilt, and tore off another piece of his sleeve.
"Here!" Dimi said, handing the torn fabric to Kalon. Kalon just glanced at it.
"What makes you think I'll value a torn piece of cloth that was once your shirt?!"
"It's not a souvenir! But I can give you one if you really want! This one is for your arm! It's still bleeding!" Dimi took Kalon's arm, and wrapped the cloth around his forearm.
"See? All better!" Kalon scoffed, but said nothing. He took one last drag of his cigarette, then threw it away. Dimi frowned at Kalon's smoking habits.
"You should really quit Kalon. I mean it!" Dimi said, waving Kalon's exhaled smoke away.
"Why? Would it make you complain any less?" Kalon said, being serious and sarcastic at the same time.
"Probably not, I'm a lost cause," Dimi said with no problem. "But it'll kill you! Don't you care about the shape your body's in?"
"No," Kalon scoffed again. "In case you haven't noticed, and believe me, you haven't, I don't give a rat's ass about very much."
"Would you want to see me do a hand-stand?!" Dimi asked, getting ready to do one.
"I wouldn't give the steam off my piss to see that," Kalon said. "You drank another energy drink, didn't you?"
"Nope! Just another soda!" Dimi said happily, holding up his bag of drinks and abandoning doing his hand-stand. Kalon sighed and kept walking. He stopped when he thought they were close to the plaza that held the Cathedral of Earth.
"Dimi, do you hear anything?" he asked, not expecting a reliable answer. Dimi stopped and stood still to listen.
"I hear some commotion, but it sounds like it's coming from a few streets over," Dimi said. "How come? Is your Gate nearby?"
"Yeah..." Kalon said. He formed his gloved hands into fists and looked around a corner slowly, signaling Dimi to be quiet and controlled. He saw several Camarians leaning against a wall lazily, talking amongst themselves. The road behind them led to the Earth Plaza, where Kalon knew more of them must be waiting. He cursed under his breath, turning back to Dimi.
"How many?" Dimi whispered.
"Oh, just three, all of them sleeping," Kalon said with sarcasm. "There's a lot!"
Dimi sat on the ground, trying to think. "I'll fight them! Since you're the important one this time! Then you can make a break for the Cathedral!"
"I don't trust you with watching my back..." Kalon said, also thinking. "I don't know if we have it in us to fight all of them at once..."
"Why not?!" Dimi asked. "You were awesome earlier! Why don't we just---"
Dimi stopped in mid-sentence and looked away past Kalon. Kalon looked over his shoulder idly, and saw what Dimi had seen first. There was an older man with graying brown hair, wearing a Camarian officer uniform. Kalon's first instinct was to attack him, but that instinct was shut off at the Camarian's first words.
"I want to help you."
Kalon and Dimi both blinked.
"What?!" Kalon raised his fists, weary of the Camarian.
"You...you're the son of the Earth Angels, aren't you?" the Camarian officer asked, directing his question at Kalon.
"What's it to you?" Dimi stood up, setting his bag on the ground. He looked between Kalon and the officer, clearly confused.
"Please..." The Camarian gave Kalon a slight bow. "I knew your father. He was my friend. I don't wish to hurt you...I can lead you inside the Cathedral, by a secret passage..."
Kalon raised an eyebrow. "My old man?"
"You know Professor Bob? But he's in Hollow!" Dimi said, surprised.
"No, no, you idiot..." Kalon said. "He means my real father, not the professor."
"I knew your father..." the man said again, looking at Kalon. He then turned to Dimi. "I also knew your father..."
"We have names, you know!" Dimi said slowly. "I'm Dimi. Dimi. D-I-M-I. He's Kalon. K-A-L-E-N."
"Idiot..." Kalon muttered at hearing his name misspelled.
"Kalon?" the man asked, sounding polite. "I'll be sure to remember your names...and what is the name of the Wind User...?"
"Wind User?" Dimi asked. "You must mean Caza! C-A-Z-A."
"What do you want with us...?" Kalon asked slowly.
"I told you, I knew all of your fathers before they took you all to Hollow. I saw you all just as babies before you left. I don't wish to hurt you, or turn you in...my name is Solstice."
"Solstice?" Dimi asked. "You said you can bring us to the Earth Cathedral without having to cross that plaza that's full of Users?"
"Yes..." said Solstice. "I can bring you through the catacombs."
"Catacombs?"
"Yes...I want to help you, since your fathers were my best friends..."
Kalon and Dimi exchanged looks.
"I think we should go with him!" Dimi said. "He's old! If he turns on us, we can take him!"
"And if he leads us into a trap?" Kalon asked.
"Then his guilt will haunt him the rest of his short remaining life!" Dimi said. Kalon shook his head.
"I must be out of my mind..." he said to himself. "Which way old man?"
"Through here, we can get into the catacombs..." Solstice said, walking to a store entrance. He opened the door and let Dimi pass through.
"I'm walking behind you," Kalon said, waiting for Solstice to lead the way. He led them to the back of the store, to a trap door. He went down first, and let Dimi and Kalon follow after. The ladder led them into a tunnel lined with stone and bricks. Kalon and Dimi followed behind Solstice. After walking a ways, he motioned upward and put a finger to his lips. Kalon looked up to see sewer drains that were in the plaza surrounding his Cathedral. If they spoke, there would be a chance the Camarians would hear them from the drain.
Solstice led them further into the tunnel until it came to another latter. He climbed up first and opened a hatchet. He climbed out of the tunnel, then signaled for Dimi and Kalon to follow.
"I'll go first..." Kalon said, shoving Dimi out of his way. He came out into a small room that looked like an office.
"This is the pastor's office in the back of the Cathedral..." Solstice said, helping Kalon out of the hole. "All of the Users are outside, none of them are inside the Cathedral itself..."
Kalon reached back down to help Dimi out. Solstice led them out of the room to a small hallway. The walls of the hall was made from various rocks molded together. At the end of the hallway was the entrance to the main hall of the Cathedral.
The main hall was enormous, with no windows. It only had a tall arch, and torches for light. The entire structure was made from rocks and boulders. All of the rocks had carvings lined with black soot, that almost glowed in the dimly lit temple. The carvings on the floor depicted scenes of peaceful fields and forests, with mountains and deserts in the background. The carvings on the walls surrounding the hall were depictions of the Earth itself shattering beneath mankind, swallowing them up and claiming what rightfully belonged to it. They also showed the land dying from the poisonous bombs dropped in the Great War. Then, on the ceiling was the pictures in the carvings of people in prayer, and the Angel of Earth descending the Heavens.
Kalon looked around at all of this, then stared at his Altar. It was close to where they had come in through the back, and had mysterious carvings all around it on the floor.
"Now...please..." Solstice's voice echoed in the hallowed hall. "Make your prayers, Kalon..."
"What?!" Kalon laughed. "I'm not making no damn prayers! I'm here to shut this baby down!"
"That's right!" Dimi said happily. Solstice stared at them both.
"Please...it's what your fathers would have wanted! That's the reason I brought you in here secretly!"
Kalon and Dimi both laughed. "We don't give a crap about out fathers!" Kalon said. "I had no intention of ever making prayers to this Altar, just shut it down!"
Solstice's eyes grew at the realization of what he had done. He ran towards the front doors of the Cathedral, but Dimi was faster. Dimi tackled Solstice, and when he fell, Solstice hit his head on a pew, knocking him out cold where he lay. Dimi stood up and gave Kalon two thumbs up.
Kalon walked to his Altar. He knelt down to the floor, and saw two circles. He carefully removed his gloves and placed his bare hands on the floor in the circles. He let Earth Energy flow from his hands into the floor of the Cathedral, morphing the ground. The rocks that made up the floor and walls of the Cathedral morphed out of shape, twisting the temple itself.
Kalon stood up, and ran back the way they had come into the Cathedral. Dimi quickly followed, seeing the strain on the Cathedral, as it slowly came crumbling down. They both escaped into the Catacombs as the Cathedral of Earth slowly collapsed.
Meanwhile, in the plaza outside, Camarian soldiers were confused as to how the Cathedral was infiltrated without them knowing it.

Caza landed on the ground harder than he meant to. He staggered and fell to one knee, holding his two chakrams in both hands. He was breathing hard, and his strength was starting to waver. He had defeated all of the Users that had been in the plaza, but more and more kept coming from every direction. He clenched his teeth, showing irritation and anger as he stood once again to dodge a volley of Ice needles raining from the sky.
Caza ran head on to an oncoming wave of Camarian soldiers. He fought them, holding his chakrams in his hands. He spun back around as the last one fell, looking for his next target. Wind Users circles the air around him, firing their machine guns and sending waves of wind blades down upon him. Caza grunted, then kicked off the ground into the sky.
Camarian Wind Users flew around him, creating gusts to blow him off course. Caza threw both chakrams with full force, and manipulated their wind to his advantage. His chakrams sought out, and severed the Wind Users, letting their decapitated bodies fall to the earth below. Caza summoned the chakrams back to his hands, slowly falling back to the ground.
He fell to his knees, tired. He knelt for a second, trying to catch his breath. The rattle of a machine gun rang out across the plaza. Caza flinched as dirt blew up just to his right, then right after, a Camarian soldier fell dead from behind him, hit by the barrage of bullets. Caza looked down at the body, then up at the person who had fired.
"Don't drop your guard..." Steel said. A machine gun was still strapped to his metal arm, now a part of it. Caza's face reverted back to its emotionless state, and he looked down.
"Thanks..."
"Is there anyone else with you?" Steel demanded. He switched out his gun for his metallic hand, and flexed it. Caza shook his head before standing up.
"They left..."
"Huh..." Steel rubbed his chin, looking at the carnage Caza had created with the Camarian bodies. "Who was with you?"
"Roxanne...Jim...Davis....and Ken."
"Find them," Steel said turning to leave. "I'm going out again. Make sure to kill anyone you happen to come across. I'm getting tired of the unconscious act. It's not permanent enough. Got it?"
Caza looked after Steel walking away. He was heading west. Caza slowly strapped his chakrams back to his waist in their usual spot. He slowly walked across the plaza in the direction the others had left him in. He looked once more after Steel. Steel was walking with a slight limp in his right leg, but other than that he seemed fine. He wondered where Steel had been all of this time. He hadn't expected Steel to just show up and leave like that.

"Do you think he's okay?" Jim yelled as they ran down a street.
"I don't know!" Davis yelled back. He summoned lashes of Fire to scorch Camarians who followed them. Their bodies lit up with flames, then fell to the ground, motionless.
Roxanne had her needles drawn in her hands, but she wasn't using them. She had Lightning flashing off her body, striking any Camarians who came too close to her. Ken was in the lead, not bothering to attack anyone. Roxanne was keeping a special eye on him.
They rounded a street corner, and stopped. Roxanne leaned against a wall and tried to catch her breath. She opened her eyes and lazily looked back. Several more Camarians were coming after them. She squeezed her eyes shut. She had Davis, Jim, and Ken all with her still, but she couldn't keep relying on them.
"Davis..." Roxanne said quietly. Davis looked up at her. "I want you to lead Jim and Ken away from here. Bring them to the Seven Gate."
"You're coming with us!" Jim said.
"They're still following us!" Roxanne said. "Now go! I'll keep them busy while you at least get away!"
Davis and Jim exchanged looks.
"We can't just leave you!" Ken said, slamming his fist against the wall.
"I'm responsible for you!" Roxanne yelled. "If something happens to any of you, I'll never be able to face your fathers! Now go!"
Davis tugged on Jim's sleeve, then started running. Jim gave Roxanne one last look.
"We'll wait for you a few blocks down the next street over..." Jim said, pointing to the next street to her right. Roxanne nodded. Jim turned to leave with Davis. Ken didn't move.
"Go Ken," Roxanne ordered. She looked back around the corner at the Camarians, who were getting close.
"Kalon doesn't give a crap about me! I'll stay with you!" he said.
"Don't say that! He's your father!" Roxanne argued. A shock of Lightning emitted from her body, coming close to hitting Ken. Ken took a step back.
"Go with Davis and Jim! Watch them for me at least!" Roxanne said, almost begging Ken at this point. Ken lowered his head, but left after Jim and Davis. Roxanne sighed, happy they were gone and safe. She took a deep breath, then stepped into the street to face the Camarians.
They all stopped when they saw her walk out. The leader made a hand motion, and two of the Users stepped forward. Roxanne crossed her arms in front of her, each hand holding Needles. The two users were both Wind Users. They both threw their hands forward, making a strong gust of wind. Roxanne braced herself, trying to hold her ground. Her clothes blew violently in the wind, and she summoned Lightning. The Lightning erupted from her body, cutting through the wind itself to strike the Wind Users. She kept the stream of Lightning strong, making sure they were dead or paralyzed before she released them.
When their Winds died, Roxanne threw three needles. They all struck the ground, creating a line leading to the Camarian leader. Electricity and Lightning ran through the needles, connecting until it shocked the leader. The leader twitched and seized up. Roxanne ran at them at incredible speed. She sped past the three remaining Users in an instant. Two Ice Users and a Fire User.
She leapt into the air, and in mid-jump, twirled around, scattering Needles that rained down upon them. Multiple needles struck the three Users in different places. The Needles that met their target exploded in their flesh. The ones that landed around them emitted Electric shocks that found their bodies.
Roxanne landed gracefully from her jump, kneeling close to the ground. She sighed, and slowly stood up, summoning her remaining needles back to her hands. They came to her, and she put them away. She brushed some of her blonde hair out of her face behind her ear. She slowly turned and began the slow walk after Jim, Davis and Ken.
Roxanne stopped with one foot in front of her. She heard someone walking towards her in the alley. She quickly fitted Needles into her hands, and jumped into the street to meet them.
Her thrown needles met Caza's chakrams. Both weapons flew back to their owner's hands after reflecting off each other.
"Caza!" Roxanne said happily. "I didn't mean to throw them at you! I thought--"
"It's all right," Caza interrupted.
"Are you hurt?"
"No. Where are the other three?"
Roxanne turned and pointed in the direction. "They're waiting a few blocks down the next street over..." she said softly. Without another word Caza began heading in the direction Roxanne had pointed out to him
Just as Jim had said, they were all waiting in the next street over.
"Miss Roxanne! Dad!" Jim said happily when he saw them.
"Are you both all right?" Davis asked, getting up from where he was leaning on a wall. Roxanne shook her head.
"I'm all right. Let's just keep going before more show up..." Roxanne said.
"I think the closer we get to the Seventh Gate, the more Camarians we're going to encounter..." Davis said in a low voice.
"I know..." Ken said. "But we still need to go. That's where we're going to meet everyone else. We'll be much better off once we all start coming together again."
Roxanne nodded. "Yeah, let's just hope we actually do find someone else soon..."

"You know what I was thinking?" Leo said. He sounded tired, but he didn't show it to his brother. Ryo glanced over at him.
"What?" Ryo asked.
"I think I'm gonna cut my hair..."
"Why?"
"We look too much alike, it's tiring when people keep thinking you're your brother and your brother is you." Ryo gave off a small laugh.
"We're in the middle of hostile territory, trying to cripple a nation with superior technology and Users compared to Hollow, in a fight for our lives, lost in a city we don't know, with out kid's lives in peril, and you're thinking about getting your hair cut different?"
Leo shrugged. "I was just thinking..."
A screech pierced the air, followed by the intercom beeping. Leo and Ryo both stopped, along with the rest of Camaria to listen.
"Camaria..." The voice was low and serious. "It is with a heavy heart, that we tell you, the Cathedral of Earth has fallen, just minutes ago..."
"Kalon finally got to his Gate..." Ryo said quietly. Leo laughed nervously.
"Now I feel like the third wheel..." he said. "I'm the one holding up the rest of our progress now...how come the Fire Gate had to be the farthest one away?"
"Doesn't matter," Ryo said. "As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter when you close the Fire Gate. I'm not even at my Gate yet!"
"Our men could not locate the Angel responsible for bringing down our beloved Cathedral. Lord Kain of the Razada House has his soldiers in place around the Fire Gate . Do not concern yourselves with that Cathedral for now. As a precaution, we as for civilians to please, go to your respective homes. Our soldiers and Users will bring down these wretched Angels of the Apocalypse."
The voice cut out, and the intercom announcement ended in silence around the city. Ryo couldn't help but smile.
"Is it just me..." Ryo asked. "Or did that announcer sound like he was losing hope?"
"I couldn't tell..." Leo said. He walked on at a faster pace. He wondered where everyone else was, and how they were all doing. Everyone had made it to their respective Gates with no problem it seemed like. Yet here he was, still trying to get to his.
And he had Ryo with him. The one Steel claimed was 'important'. If anything happened to him, it would have all been in vain. It brought up the memory where he had promised to always take care of Ryo, no matter what.
"Hey Ryo...?" Leo asked slowly, not looking up as he walked.
"What?" Ryo said, not looking up either.
"What do you remember about our mother?" Ryo stopped walking for a moment, surprised Leo would ask him something like that at a time like this.
"Our mother?" Ryo asked. "What about her?"
"I just wanted to know what you remembered about her."
Ryo looked up, trying to recall his earliest memories. "I don't know...we were just little kids when she died...I remember she had white hair, but she wasn't old either. And she had light red eyes, like the ones Nayota has. And I know she was a nice person..."
"I remember that too..." Leo said softly. Ryo shook his head.
"What made you think of that all of a sudden?" he asked.
"Nothing..." Leo said simply. "Just making conversation."
"You never 'make conversation' Leo..." Ryo muttered. "Something made you think of her. What was it?"
"Just being here...in this city," Leo answered. "I just thought, this must be where she was from. This is where all of us were from, before going to Hollow..."
"Oh...." Ryo said. "I guess so...I like Hollow better though..."
"Of course you do..." Leo said. "The only lives we've ever known are at the Razada House, and in Hollow. We both know you like Hollow better..."
"Would you have gone back? If I wasn't with you?" Ryo asked.
"No...there's nothing there worth remembering anymore..."

Kyo ran several Camarians through with his sword, then kicked them off in disgust. He looked around for anymore that he might have missed, but found none. Taj was standing a ways away while Kaira stood by herself, holding her small dragon close.
"Come on..." Kyo called to Kaira. She glanced up from her dragon, and nodded, slowly following him. She was careful not to walk in pools of blood of step too close to bodies. Taj extended his hand to help her, and she kindly took it with a small smile. Kyo frowned, but said nothing.
"Are we anywhere close to the Seventh Gate?" Kaira asked quietly.
"We're out of Sector 11 for sure now..." Taj said, looking up at the surrounding buildings, "but I have no clue as to where we are."
"We're not too far off from the Seventh Gate," Kyo said. "But the closer we get the more enemies we find. It's like that on all sides of the Final Cathedral. Are you sure that's where you think we should be going?"
Kaira looked down, feeling guilty for dragging them along with her.
"You two can leave me if you want, I'll go on by myself..." she said shyly. It was early morning, and dawn wasn't far off. She felt tired, and slightly weaker, but there was no sleeping anytime soon in these conditions.
"We can't just leave you!" Taj said. "That'd be like sending you to your death! I'll go anywhere you want, you just gotta decide for yourself if you really wanna go into the heart of this city!"
Kaira nodded.
"I want to go! I want to see my Dad! But..."
"You don't want to put us in danger," Kyo finished for her. Kaira nodded silently.
"Kaira, I'll go, if you want me to."
Kaira smiled weakly at the both of them. She lowered her head, trying to hide her tears. "I just wanna see my Dad..." she said softly.
"You will! When we go to the Seventh Gate!" Taj said quickly, acting nervous. Kyo didn't say anything.
"We'll try and get closer to the Cathedral then..." Kyo said after a time. "It's surrounded, so we'll have to be careful, try not to take on too many Camarians at once. All right?"
Kaira looked up sadly, but nodded in agreement.

"Stop..." Kalon breathed. He slowed his running to a stop, and bent over breathing hard. He and Dimi had run since leaving the Cathedral of Earth, putting as much distance behind them as possible. In the time they had spent running, they had covered good ground.
"Hey Kalon..." Dimi wheezed, "How much farther...to the Cathedral of...the....the last one?"
"It's still a ways off..." Kalon said, pointing directly south in the direction they had been going.
"I wonder where that kid of mine is..." Dimi said, standing straight after catching his breath.
"No damn idea..." Kalon said, catching his breath as well.
"Aren't you worried at all? About Ken?" Dimi asked. "Have you no soul?!"
"Shut up!" Kalon yelled. He began running again.
"I'm serious Kalon! How come you're not worried for him?"
"Because! He's my son! He's not going down without a fight!" Kalon yelled.
They continued running at full speed, south towards the final Gate. Kalon had figured everyone would be going there once the last Elemental Gate was closed, and there, they would find Taj.
Kalon and Dimi stopped running when they came upon a square. Camarians were swarming throughout the square, but they all had their backs to Dimi and Kalon. Their focus was on three people on the far side. One had blonde hair, the other black hair with silver streaks wearing a black trenchcoat, and a girl with brown hair wearing black and purple.
"That's Taj! And Kaira! And that one kid! Kyo!" Dimi yelled when he saw them. "We found them Kalon!"
Kalon stood where he was, his mind was working out a plan.
"Let's go help them!" Dimi said, looking at Kalon. A smile creeped across Kalon's face. He punched his fists together, his body rigid.
"No...we'll do much more than that." Kalon said. He knelt swiftly down and slammed both fists against the ground. An earthquake erupted with Kalon's fists being the epicenter. The entire square shook violently, throwing some Camarians to their feet. Across the square, Taj, Kyo and Kaira took this opportunity to escape into a street, leaving the Camarians to Dimi and Kalon, who they didn't see.
Kalon stood back up, ending the quake. All of the Camarian Users' attention was on him. He spread out his arms wide, giving one gloved, middle finger to Camaria with each hand.
"CAMARIA!" Kalon yelled. "COME AND GET SOME!"
Instantly, all of the Camarians swarmed towards Kalon and Dimi. Dimi took a stance, becoming serious suddenly. Kalon took his own stance next to Dimi.
"You ready for this Water Sprite?!" Kalon yelled. Dimi didn't say anything. His face was serious. Kalon slammed one fist into the Earth, making explosions in the rocks that made up the ground. Shattered pieces of rock scattered, cutting into Camarian bodies. Spikes erupted from the Earth surrounding Kalon and Dimi, traveling along the ground outward, impaling people as they went.
Dimi threw both arms into the air, and instantly, giant walls of Water rose from nowhere, swallowing hordes of enemy Users, and crushing their bodies. Dimi comboed it by spinning around, making the Water travel around them, swallowing more Camarians.
Kalon continued to fight Camarians, creating Earth spikes, and shockwaves. In a break, Kalon stood up, looking around for Dimi. Dimi was a ways off by himself, still creating Water. Kalon saw a Camarian Lightning User send a volt of thunder crashing down inches from Dimi.
"Idiot's gonna get himself killed..." Kalon said to himself. He began fighting his way through the enemy crowds towards Dimi.
Dimi's back was to a building, as he kept summoning Water. He created violent tides that swallowed Camarians, then smashed them against buildings, breaking their bodies. All of his waves and tides Dimi flowed with his body. Random volts of thunder crashed around him, almost hitting him several times. Dimi paid no attention to them, and continued to flow with his Water that crushed bodies.
Kalon punched the Earth with both fists, creating spikes that traveled behind Dimi, killing Camarians who had come up behind Dimi. Kalon fell to one knee, exhausted from all the fighting. He looked up at Dimi, still moving with his waves and steams.
More Camarians were coming, from all directions, hearing that two Angels were spotted, and fighting openly. Kalon saw more Camarians swarming to their square, and cursed to himself.
Dammit! How many of them are there...?!
Dimi sent another tsunami across the field, collecting more bodies as it traveled. Dimi wasn't paying attention to his defense, all he could do was attack. He was being reckless.
Kalon saw a Camarian Dimi's last wave had missed. He stood tall, and had the emblem of Earth written on his uniform. Kalon's eyes widened as the Earth User slammed both fists into the ground, the same way he did. Spikes rose up from the Earth, traveling along the ground towards the Angel of Water, who had his back turned.
"Dimi!" Kalon yelled. He kicked off from his kneeling position towards Dimi.
Dimi looked over his shoulder at hearing his name called out. He hardly saw Kalon running towards him, or the spikes.
"Move Dimi! Get out of the way!" Kalon yelled. Dimi didn't react, he was too busy with his Water attacks.
Kalon reached Dimi a second before the Earth Spikes. He shoved Dimi hard with his shoulder, making him fall a distance away. The next instant, three Earth spikes impaled Kalon through the chest, and pinned him against the wall of a building.
Kalon's head rolled back at being pinned, and he coughed blood. Dimi rolled over on the ground and saw Kalon pinned. Dimi's eyes widened in horror, seeing blood run down the spikes that held Kalon against the wall.
Kalon slowly raised his gloved hands, and held them against the wall he was pinned again, blood flowing from his mouth.
"Goddamn it..." Kalon said weakly through the blood. His head fell forward, and hung there for a moment.
"Kalon..." Dimi said, ignoring the Camarians who were coming at him again.
Kalon gripped the wall tighter, and let out an agonizing scream. At his cry, the Earth shook around the square, and cracks broke along the ground around the Camarians. Kalon flowed all of his remaining energy into the Earth, forcing it to move and shift. He increased the gravity beneath the Camarians, pulling the Wind Users from the air, and making the ground break.
The cracks surrounding the Camarians shattered, and fell into a deep, dark abyss with no bottom. The Earth itself fell from beneath their feet, and they all fell into the dark below.
Dimi still lied at the edge of the abyss. All of the Camarians they were fighting were gone. He was spared by Kalon's last attack, and he slowly crawled away from the great hole towards Kalon.
"Kalon..." Dimi said, his voice breaking. "Why'd you do that...?"
Kalon smiled in his pain, and coughed more blood.
"You...idiot..." he said weakly. "You grew on me..."
Dimi reached up and took Kalon's hands. "I'll get you down..."
Kalon rolled his head back and rested it against the wall behind him. His gray eyes slowly closed, and he smiled.
"Idiot..."
Kalon's body slowly began to disintegrate into small sphere's of light that floated away into the sky. Dimi gripped Kalon's hands tighter. Slowly Kalon's legs, then torso disappeared.
Until finally, Kalon's body was gone, and Dimi still held his bloodied gloves in his hands.

End
