Hiya Guys! Welcome to Ryuchu's Random Rants (a.k.a. RRR). This is a place where quite literally I'll rant about anything I feel need ranting about. My life, anime, video games, books...etc.

Since this will be full of all my personal opinions, It'll most likely contain spoilers at one time or another, so I guess if there are spoilers...I'll put a warning in the title of the post! (I really wouldn't want to black out a whole post with that black line thingy...that would be weird) ^-^

So Aywho (I LOVE THAT WORD!), enjoy your time here at RRR and welcome yourself to the secret workings of an insane person!

"I looked at my right hand, the hand with which I painted. There was power in that hand. Power to create and destroy. Power to bring pleasure and pain. Power to amuse and to horrify. There was in that hand the demonic and the divine. The demonic and the divine were two aspects of the same force. Creation was demonic and divine. Creativity was demonic and divine. Art was demonic and divine." --Chaim Potoko, "My Name is Asher Lev"

Otaku Quiz Thinga-Ma-Jig

Because everyone is doing it and I need something to cheer me up...

Otaku Quiz
Rules:
1) Answer these questions
2) Tag 5 other people when you’re done
3) Post in your journal/world

1. How long have you been an anime fan?
I guess since I started watching Pokemon and Digimon and Card Captor Sakura when it was on TV after school. :)

2. What was your first anime?
The first one I was aware it was an anime was Cyborg 009...or maybe it was Trigun? I used to sneak down in the middle of the night to watch Trigun while my parents were sleeping...not a good habit but oh so fun.

3. What was your first manga?
Rave Master volume 6. I had watched up to where volume 5 ends through the anime that was on TV, so I thought I would just start off on volume 6. I have since gone back and procured the volumes before it...although it took me several years.

4. What is your favourite anime? Why?
I don't think I could pick one favorite...but I really liked Clannad, Bokurano and Trigun. All of them made me cry, all of them made me smile and all of them made me think; that make them pretty awesome in my opinion. :3

5. What is your favourite manga? Why?
Uhm...I would have to say Chrono Crusade and Afterschool Charisma. Chrono Crusade because I can remember waiting for each volume to come out and I positively loved the suspense, the action and the romance that was thrown in...plus it had a cute(ish) ending. As for Afterschool Charisma, I'm still waiting for new volumes to come out, but the story is EXTREMELY good so far...that and there's clones of famous people and the Hitler clone is adorable.

6. What is your favourite manga genre? Why?
I'm incredibly jumpy with my choice, so I don't think I could pin down just one. I'll read things ranging from straight up gore (as present in Dark Metro) all the way to super cuetsy romances (as seen in NG Life).

7. How much have your manga tastes changed since you first started watching anime?
It hasn't changed but rather grown. I still enjoy the anime/manga genres that I enjoyed in my childhood (Fantasy and Magical Girl and the such) but I also now enjoy a wider selection than that. :)

8. What anime/manga have you been obsessed with over the years? Do you still like it?
Chrono Crusade; yes I still enjoy it and yes I still obsess. Also, Trigun will always have a special place in my heart.

9. Do you prefer more mainstream manga or less popular manga?
I end up watching a lot of the less popular stuff because often times the popular ones are so popular that I already know the basic plot and characters and I feel that somehow that detracts from the experience of watching it and learning the plot as you go.

10. What is your favourite anime/manga character?
I honestly have no idea...can I just say Chrono again? :3
He's adorable and a demon. 'nuff said.

11. Do you have a anime/manga crush? If so, who?
I don't think I ever have...I liked pairing them with other characters from the series far too much to actually develop a crush on them. :)

12. Do you have a favourite anime/manga pairing? If not, make something up (you might suddenly fall in love with it!)
LenxLuka (Vocaloids..which I'm aware isn't an anime...but I love them so much so they get included)
ChronoxRosette (Chrono Crusade)
-Looks forward-
Alright they don't ask for video game characters...so I'll include them here! :)
LloydxColette (Tales of Symphonia)
MayaxEdgeworth (Phoenix Wright...this is probably the oddest couple that I like, bit I can't help but love it for some reason.)

13. Do you like reading/writing fanfics?
A lot of fanfiction isn't very well written and I can't bring myself to read it, but on occasion, I stumble on something that is EXTREMELY well done, and then I enjoy reading it immensely. As for writing it...let's just say I have a FanFiction.net account and if you can find me and care to read what I write you can decide for yourself if it's actual "writing".

14. Do you like drawing/looking at fanart? If so, for what manga, or does it not matter?
I like both. :) And the series doesn't really matter, although it always makes me happy when I see a picture of an obscure series that I enjoy.

15. What is your favourite song in an anime (it can be background music or OP/ED songs)?
I could say a lot of songs...but I love the opening for Bokurano. The song is a lot more depressing when you've watched the series and you know the English lyrics.

16. What is your least favourite anime/manga? Why?
I tried to get through this series called "Dazzle"...none of it made sense...none of it was explained and it was just boring. Plus the main character annoyed me. Also, I tried my best to get into "Gantz", but it just got to...disturbing for me.

17. What is your favourite video game? Why?
The "Tales of" series, but particularly Tales of Symphonia. That game launched my current love/obsession with RPGs. The plot was extremely interesting, surprising and enjoyable, the battle system was fun (although it's hard to go back to after Tales of the Abyss where you have the joy of free run) and I liked all the characters. Plus, I've played it for close to 300 hours...Yeaaaaaaahhh, I think it's my favorite. :)

18. What is your favourite kind of videogame? Why?
RPGs. I always play games for plot and RPGs seem to always have good ones. Plus, there's so many obscure JRPGs for me to love and play that no one has heard of. :3 Recently, I've also grown fond of adventure games because of their puzzles and how they can still have great story lines. :)

19. What is your favourite anime movie?
Kiki's Delivery Service. It was the first anime movie I watched when my babysitter brought it over one day. I had no idea what was really going on, all I knew was it had a talking cat and that made it awesome.

20. Was this quiz fun? :D
It was rather enjoyable. Thank you for your inquiry.

I taaaaaaggggg...well everyone's already done it so...
*POINTS DRAMATICALLY*
YOU!

And another...and another...

I would say something snazzy here, except I can't think of anything snazzy to say. So let's just get on with the music. :)

Day 9: A song that you can dance to

Now, if I had the ability to dance, I would TOTALLY dance to this song. But since I lack it, I'll just listen to it and attempt (futile) to sing along in Swedish. :3

Till tomorrow!

Every Day Another Song

Any yet another song to torture you for you to enjoy! :)

Day 8: A song that you know all the words to

Technically, I know all the words to A LOT of songs, but I thought I would post this one 'cause it's a rambling speech and it took me awhile to memorize. On a sidenote, I love rambling speech songs. <3

Till tomorrow!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MOONLIT DREAM!!!!!!!!!! :D I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! :D
:)

And now I have to play catchup with the song challenge 'cause I missed yesterday. Oops.

BUT YOU GET TWO SONGS TODAY!!!!! So it's all good.

Day 6: A song that reminds you of somewhere

I think that where it reminds me of is self-explanatory. :>

Day 7: A song that reminds you of a certain event

One day, I decided that I would put my I-pod on shuffle and listen to every single song, no skipping allowed. Well, 6 days and 1237 later, this was the last song that I listened to. It amused me 'cause the last line of the song is "He is history" (in German of course). It was like the music was telling me that is was the end of my listening. :)

With all that rambling aside, I shall see you tomorrow!
(AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ONCE MORE MOONLIT DREAM! 8D THANK YOU MUCHLY FOR ALLOWING MY TO LOVINGLY BORROW WITH NO INTENTION OF RETURNING THIS MUSIC CHALLENGE DEALIEO. IT'S FUN! :3)
