~[The First Movement]~
Sad hazel eyes looked through a car window at the mountains silhouetted by the night sky as the car stayed still in traffic, as the events of the past few weeks replayed within his head as the owner of the peculiar eyes closed them to listen to the honking of traffic. A sudden lurch caused the teenage boy to open his eyes and grumble as he rubbed his forehead from hitting the dashboard.
"I suppose its not the time to tell you I told you so."
"I supposed correctly."
The hazel eyed teen stared at the person driving the car with a slightly annoyed look. She had been telling him to stop riding without a seat belt on, but he assured her that the cops would not pull her over for such a trivial thing. Accidents were always rare with her, even in the worst conditions. Grey eyes looked back at him, as he looked away. Sometimes the difference between the two of them was unsettling to him. They both had strange eye shades, but while he had black hair with a sort of light brown complexion, she had brown hair with a peach complexion. People often stared at him when he called him mother, but he was alright with the stares. What actually irritated him was when people asked if he was adopted, to actually voice what was said. The car began to move as traffic began to pick up, as a faint melody began playing in his head. Looking out the window, he flinched when a hand touched his hair, as he felt a wave of calm overtake him.
"Life isn't about who you meet. It's really how you live it."
"Maybe. It is hard to deal with. I never really dealt with things like this before."
"Stop thinking about it and focus on school. It will be all over soon enough anyways."
"A rock and a hard place."
"What are you talking about?"
"That's basically what you are putting me in."
"Well, I suppose you can say that but I want you to know that I had no intention of ever putting you in this situation. Life deals its hand, and it can be good or bad. Just give everyone a good poker face."
"I never heard anyone compare life to a card game."
"When life is how it is now, the strangest of comparisons can make the greatest of sense. Its just like if you are hungry. It makes everything taste better."
"School food is that exception."
"I doubt that; the food never really changed from when I attended that school. Regardless it tasted good."
"Then I suspect you have no palette."
"Then I guess what you and your brother eat every night is a tasteless waste of time on my behalf."
"Don't guilt trip me like that. That's underhanded and shady."As the car exited the highway located in the mountains, a vast city located in the valley glittered in the night, as a sense a depression creeped its way back into the boy's mind. Half closing his eyes, he played of the depression by yawning, as he glanced at the car's stereo, thanking it was approaching midnight. Shifting his body so his mother could not see his face and his expression, his thoughts wondered to replay the events of the last couple of weeks, finding out he really was not what you would call human...well in the loosest sense you could say he was a human, but after that discussion him and his mother had gone through, he had to let this sit in. Things that happened within his life started to make a lot more sense but drove him into this deep depression that began to form in his mind mentally and threatened to overwhelm him as he thought further into it. As the car turned down a city street, the boy stifled a gasp as a fresh memory flashed in his head; a girl sat with him at a bus stop, both listening to music, both ignorant to the world around them. Clenching his fist, he didn't flinch as a hand awoke him from this dream; apparently he had fallen asleep.
"Wake up dear...we're home and you need to get ready for school. Try not to dwell on the past. There's a saying.."
"There's other fish in the sea."The boy got out of the car as he smiled weakly, as he walked up the driveway to his home, as a stern looking older boy yawned as he approached the doorway.
"Why are you guys late? I ate my fill Leon; the rest is put up."
Leon stared the grey eyed older sibling down as they held their gaze. Footsteps walking up made them both avert their gaze to their mother, who looked tired."Fredrick, Leon, get out of the doorway and go to bed. You both have school and I have to get ready for the district manger visit in the morning."
"Yo, move it then Leon. Distracting me."
Fredrick ran into the home as he took the flight of stairs 3 at a time, as Leon strolled in, heading for the bathroom before going to bed.
"Leon."Hearing his name, he froze. Turning his head, his mother's back was to him, as she locked the door. Hearing a slight sigh, he turned his head to avoid eye contact with his mother.
"Please do not mention this to your brother. Or anyone else for all that matter."
"I will only be seen as crazy. And besides...something like this won't bother me for long. So don't even try to say if I need someone, because I have this. Goodnight mom, and good luck."Changing his route to the stairs, he ran up the stairs as he went to the restroom on the second story. Closing the door, he looked up at the ceiling as he blanked out, as his eyes burned. Tears or lack of sleep? I wonder..
In a plain, messy room on the second floor of a house, a loud sporadic beeping of a digital alarm clock echoed in the room, as Leon stirred in a mass of covers from slumber. As he sat up, he scratched his matted hair as he pressed the snooze on his alarm that read 4:30 on the side of his mattress that laid on the floor. Grumbling, he laid back down on his bed and began to stare up at the ceiling, tired from the trip with his mother out of the valley. After what seemed like an eternity (in reality only ten minutes had passed), the buzzing resumed, as he hit the snooze once again with his foot. Really now...it only seems like it has been only 2 hours...why am I so tired? I don't even feel like going to school today. It's all a bunch of useless classes anyways. The boy closed his eyes, only to open them to sunlight. Freezing, he quickly jumped out of bed, jumping over an open violin case as he grabbed his towel to quickly take a shower, as the alarm clock read 6:59.
