Woods pulls out of Players Championship ahead of Masters

Tiger Woods (USA) will not compete in the US Professional Golf (PGA) Tour's Players Championship, the fifth major of the year.

The Associated Press and other news outlets reported on Monday (Aug. 8) that Woods was not included in the Players Championship field. The Players Championship is scheduled to begin on Aug. 15. Woods' absence means his spot will go to Sweden's Alexander Bjork.
