The battle for the top spot in the V-League Women's Division is coming to an end. Hyundai E&C is now in a favorable position to maintain its lead.
Hyundai E&C will take on IBK IBK in the final match of the sixth round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Women's Division at Suwon Gymnasium on Monday. A three-point victory over IBK will make it easier for Hyundai E&C to secure first place.
Hyundai E&C leads the standings with 24 wins, 9 losses, and 74 points from 33 games. Heungkuk Life, which was chasing Hyundai E&C, suffered a 1-3 (25-18, 22-25, 23-25, 14-25) setback in the sixth round match against Pepper Savings Bank at the Pepper Stadium in Gwangju the previous day (Aug. 8).
Heungkuk Life was caught off guard by last-place Pepper Savings Bank in the women's division at the end of the lead fight. It was a chance for Heungkuk Life to reclaim the top spot.
Heungkuk Life hadn't lost to Pepper Savings Bank this season. They were undefeated from rounds one through five. They failed to secure a point in the final game of the sixth round and were unable to overtake leader Hyundai E&C.
