Okay... In short, this winter kind of sucked up until now.
It was too warm for snow.
That's it, that's all, that's enough reasons. I love snow, so not having it kind of ruined my winter. Yes, it's nice when it's warm, but I'm used to sub-zero temperatures in winter and I like my snow. I'm Canadian for goodness sakes!
Buuuuuut, that's not to say I like temperatures where it gets so cold every bit of your exposed skin ends up frost-bitten in the first few seconds you go outside.
That's what happened today. Saturday, we had snowfall. It didn't seem like much, and it looked as if it would hit the ground and melt like all the other snow did. It didn't. It piled up quite a bit and stayed on the ground. I was ecstatic! Then, today. There was a projected low of -45 degrees Celsius with the windchill. In the morning it was brutal. Snow crystals were pelting my face and the wind blowing them around was cold and even when you got out of the wind the ambient temperature simply stung your skin. After school it didn't get much better. The temperature by itself was around -23'C, not too bad. But the wind was evil and very, very cold.
The snow brought the rest of the cold we missed all winter.
Currently, I'm wrapped up in a faux fur blanket with a cup of hot cocoa (love my cocoa =w=), and you know what? While my toes have gone a little numb and my ears are in a little bit of pain, I'm quite content.
We. Have. Snow <3
And I have hot cocoa <33
