ACEN Day Two
While no longer a guest of LineCon 08, I decided to check out ACEN, the con I wanted to go to from the beginning. I did not go to any panels, which is fine, because nothing really jumped out at me. Well, Your Favorite Anime Sucks! did, but ...LineCon Chicago '08

Well, I got my costume today. Good News, looks really good, Kira did a great job. Bad news, and only complaint, sleeves are too long. They go down past my hands on both the kimono and haori. With the kimono, its an easy enough fix, just cut the sleeves and just re hem the edge. Haori is another problem, the design on the bottom of the shinsengumi haori will not allow for such a simple solution.
I can only hope that a close friend with a sewing machine can take it off of the top of the sleeeves and reattach them. But I do not have the fucking time to do it, with a softball game tomorrow, and ACEN being Friday, I dont know what to do.

Getting ready for Conventions.
My costume is near completion, the sleevs on the shinsengumi haori are all that need to be sewn on to finish, but Kira (who is doing it for me) ran out of the light blue fabric. So she had to go and try to find some matching fabric at another store.
Friday will be fun, work in the morning, get my paycheck, go to ACEN, then at about 7:00 PM, its off to Milwaukee for Blue Oyster Cult. I am not missing this shin-dig for anything. The next morning, if I drink, I will wake up in Milwaukee, then head back down to ACEN, if no booze (HA!), I will sleep at home, then go to the con.
I cannot wait to see all of the fellow TheOtaku members on Saturday.
Monday and Tuesday, I will be recovering/packing for Canada and Anime North. Its hard to believe that its only like 10 days away, especially since I have been planning this trip and talking about it since like December, when I found out Red and Duo were going.
I even got to make my annual trip up north fishing last weekend, did fucking great too, three of us caught 250 White Bass, in about 12 hours, it hasnt been that good in years! We filled up my dads 150 quart cooler to the top!
Ill try to post again before ACEN, hopefully with pics of my self-made Laughing Man Shirt!
