Wednesday, I leave the house at about 11:30 AM CST. Its now time for the long drive to Toronto.
Stop in Indiana to top off the tank and go to the bathroom (Monster energy drinks go right through ya). And Im off, the drive goes rather uneventful, few phone calls, listen to a lot of iPod music because I am now out of range of my favorite stations, and this was easier than scanning the dial.
About 8 PM, I do get a little lost, I had missed an exit going to the bridge into Canada, no big deal, I used it as an oppurtunity to get something to eat, and top off the tank once again.
I come up to the bridge into Canada, and proceed to go to the border guard.
Guard "Citizenship?"
Me "United States," as I hand him my passport and ID
Guard "Where you going?"
Me "Toronto."
Guard "Whats in Toronto?"(This is where is gets interesting)
Me "Anime Convention"
Guard (O_o) "Whats that, and what do you do there?"
Me(here we go) "Its for Japanese Cartoons. A gathering of fans, meeting voice actors, stuff like that."
Guard (still somewhat confused) "When are you coming back?"
Me "Sunday night or Monday, not quite sure yet."
Guard "Weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco."
Me "No, sir."
Guard "Ok, safe trip, enjoy."
And I drive off into the province of Ontario, leaving a guard still with a kind of (O_o) look. Always good.
I pull into Toronto at about 9:45 CST (10:45 EST) and I find a nice little truck stop to pull into and sleep. Not knowing that a friend from Florida would keep me up all night on the phone. I dont blame her though, she is like a sister to me, and I dont talk to her all that often.
Tomorrow, Thursday. Picking up Red and Duo from the airport, and the chapter in "Schultzie's Travelling Misadventures"
G'Night Everybody.
