Good news and Bad news.

Bad news first:
I almost got into another serious accident today. I dont know what the hell happened, but I took my eyes off the road for a second, and then the next thing I know, Im blowing through a red light and almost T-Bone a minivan.

There were two calls of complaint, from the driver, and from the school district I am doing summer work for. Which means, tomorrow, I have to retrain, again.

I will tell you all one thing:
Complacency is dangerous, especially on the road. Do not take anything on the road for granted, it changes quickly and consequences can be severe. Be safe, and be mindful of the road. I didnt today, and it could have been tragic.

Good news:
For once, I didnt have to drive anywhere for fun. My brother, a friend of ours and I went out to my Uncle Sals' Deli for lunch. And something else, which I mentioned last time. Thats right, I got to meet Tommie Harris, one of my favorite Chicago Bears. He came in after his workout at the gym next door and had some lunch. He also had with him Bears defensive end Mark Anderson. I GOT TO MEET TWO CHICAGO BEARS!!!! After they were done eating, they signed a couple of autographs for us, shook our hands and talked with us for a minute before they left. When we were on the road, Mark waved to us again as we passed him. AWESOME!!! I am proud of myself, I didnt stare, I didnt have the fanboy fangasm (in front of them, afterwords, all bets off), and I can go back and run into him again anytime this week. I want to ask him if cornerback Natah Vasher has any nicknames. I have been trying to get a thing going among my friends and other Bears fans to call Vasher "Vash the Stampede". Hopefully, I can get Tommie Harris to call him that, and it catch on like wildfire. Keep an ear open if any of you watch a Bears game this year. Im going to be campaigning hard for this one.

In case I dont post again, Have a safe and Happy Independence Day.
