Union?!?

The title says it all. Union. Before I kind of get into details, I will say the following post will probably contain various uses of various four letter words for obvious reasons.

Still with me? Thought not.

Short version.
Drivers at the bus company are being fucked in the ass by our employer. Some of them are finally tired of it, and have started bringing out union cards. If enough of us sign them, we will have a vote on whether or not to bring in a union.

Personal version.
If there were a way to work this out with our bosses, than I would be willing to do so. But one driver cannot stand against the employers without exposing themselves to serious retrobution. Drivers have been fired for just that reason. I put on my timesheet the SAME EXACT TIMES everyday. Why have I not had the same paycheck twice. Im always working the same hours, but I never get paid the same amount. Something smells fishy in Denmark, methinks. I know that they are ripping us off, other people track it better than I do. What happened to them when they tried to call the company on it, I couldnt tell you what happened to them. Well, not what happened after they were fired. They keep trying to use fear to keep us in line. "Dont end up in Jail! Check your Bus!" is the latest flyer going around. It only takes 30 seconds to check your bus, and if your'e too lazy to do so, THEN YOU DESERVE WHATEVER YOU GET IF IT ALL GOES WRONG! Am I the perfect driver, fuck no. But I am one of the better drivers if not one of the better employees these assholes have.

I would consider myself pro-union in this case and I wish it werent the case. These people are taking advantage of their drivers, the real ones who move the company. Not the bitch in the pants suit who doesnt even come around much lately. If things were a little better, if they werent cutting our hours. If they werent forcing drivers to go to another base where there are not toilets, or electricity (THAT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL BY THE WAY!).

To those of you still in school and who still ride the bus to and from. I dont know what kind of company your driver works for, but know that they are extremely stressed people. We put on one hell of an act in front of students, teachers, parents, and other school officials. I speak for myself, but I do not want to bring my quarrells witht the bus company out in public. Take it easy on your drivers.

I filled out an application at a freight company in town. They dont have an opening now, but when they do, I am ONE OF TWO class B CDL drivers who have an application on file now. I hope they hire someone soon.

I know I have left thoughts out that would clarify what the hell I am trying to talk about. But I am not quite eloquent enough to explain myself. My own mind is racing accross this whole shit-storm.

I need a new job.
