SoMetHinG To ThInk AbOut : mixed feelings

Ever come across a character you had mixed feelings about?
I have.
Like, for example, Goomoonrong (9 arts dragon or 9AD for short. I'm, like, the only person who bothers to call him his whole name) from The Breaker. It's like the whole first season was spent building up this image of him being a funny, likeable guy although even then you could kind of see that he didn't have the same morals as everyone else. But then you have to face the fact that he has murdered and harmed people ( both innocent and otherwise).
On one hand: He's one of the main characters; one of the "good guys". It's not like he's killing people for the usual villainous reasons, like power or something. He can be nice when he wants to be and he obviously cares about the people he's close to. And he's just a nice character.
On the other hand: His real reason for being so murderous isn't really a good excuse either and he's really merciless at times.
So basically, I want him to have a happy ending but at the same time it almost seems unfair or unrealistic that someone like him should get away without consequences.
9AD is one of my favorite characters, from ANY manga I've read, but tbh if I met him IRL I'd either:
A. Run for my life
B. Hope he doesn't notice me
C. Ask for his autograph

I could go on about mixed feelings for a long time. Like the CCG and the ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul.
On one hand: The CCG are protecting innocent people from ghouls that will kill them and some ghouls really want to hurt them for no good reason *cough*aogiritree*cough*
On the other hand: The CCG are also killing innocent ghouls who need to either eat humans or die. They don't understand that ghouls are basically just humans with very different bodies. It's not their fault they only eat humans and its not the humans' fault they don't want to be eaten.
So how do you resolve this?
Manga and Anime give you something to think about sometimes.
P.S. If you haven't read The Breaker you should. It's awesome. ( this always confuses people- The Breaker: New Waves is the sequel. Read The Breaker first then New Waves) (^_^)
