Chapter 3: Battle
Sonic stood up to see the boy named Zeke and the darker hedgehog next to him.
"So this is the famous Sonic the hedgehog. You are Shruic's brother? You two are so much alike!" Zeke exclaimed mockingly.
"Why don't you join us, brother?" Shruic cackled. "Leave the weak Fire and join us!"
"I have no ties to either of you!" Sonic spat at the boy and dark hedgehog. "I'm here to stop you!"
Kaze growled. Hikaru hissed. The two glared at their enemies.
"I guess I might let you fight," Zeke said, grinning. "Shruic, I would like you to test their abilities. I want to know if Kara has gotten stronger."
"And where are you off to?" Kara shouted after him, hate aciding her voice. "To chicken to battle me?"
"No," Zeke said casually, as if the acid in her voice wasn't real. "you're much too weak now for me to even bother with. Once your better, then I will fight you. Right now you're just a amateur."
Coward, Sonic thought. Zeke disappeared quickly in a flash of flames.
"Shruic will do as Master Zeke says!" Shruic cackled. "Shruic will kill Sun Fire and Wind!"
"Isn't his third person speaking annoying?" Kara joked.
"Yep," Sonic agreed. "He should be a push over. Two against one– good odds."
"Shruic not so easy," Shruic taunted.
Kara grabbed a necklace that had dangled around her neck. "Fire Maiden!" she cried. In a blast of fire she was suited in a pink dress, red shoulder armor, and boots.
Sonic stood there with his mouth agape. Holy cow!
"Well, don't stand there! Call out 'Warrior Wind'!" Kara said, summoning a red staff with a flame shaped blade at one end.
"R-right," Sonic said. He held up his left hand with his new glove. "Warrior Wind!" A haze filled the room as a power surged through him. Only a second later, Sonic was suited in a white bandana and a white sash. He also had wings on his back. In a gust of wind, Sonic was holding a finely made bow that was white as bone. "Whoa!" he exclaimed.
Shruic laughed a scornfully. "Wind and Fire think they can kill Shruic? Wind and Fire sorrowfully mistaken!"
Kara glared at Shruic. "Hikaru!" she cried extending an empty hand forward. The next minute a red fire ball was sitting in her hands. "Into the staff!" She thrust the the red ball into the staff.
Kara's staff began to glow a red and yellow aura that resembled fire. "Sonic, do what I did. Call for Kaze!"
Sonic looked dumbfounded but did as she did. "Kaze!" he called, extending his hand. A minute later, a firey ball was in his hand. Instead of it being a red like Kara's it was a transparent white. He shrugged and thrust it into his bow.
His bow began to emit a white haze-like aura. "Now what?" he asked.
Kara glared strait ahead.
"Shruic wants to play now," Shruic said. "Is Fire and Wind done yet? Shruic bored out of Shruic's mind!"
"Flame Walk!" Kara cried, quickly jabbing her weapon in Shruic's direction. Red hot flames sprang forth from the tip.
A split second later, a voice could be heard behind Kara. "Fire much to slow for Shruic's Wind."
Sonic turned to look at Kara. Shruic was right behind her.
Kara gave out a grunt of frustration as she turned around quickly, arcing her weapon tip downward at an angle towards Shruic's waist. Shruic jumped up to doge the weapon as it past below him. In midair, Shruic did a backflip getting Kara in the stomach with a devastating kick.
Kara fell back on her butt, clutching her stomach. Shruic used the wind to his advantage and jumped back and landed a meter away from the broken window. Shruic raced toward her with blinding speed.
Sonic ran into his way and armed himself with an arrow and released it before Shruic could stop. Homing Shot! There was a sudden cry.
Shruic was just a couple of centimeters past the window and towards the right of where he was supposed to be. Shruic's leg was impaled by the arrow making it impossible to run.
Shruic glared at Sonic, who had a second arrow waiting. "Brother dares to do this to Shruic?!" he shrieked. "Brother will pay dearly! Sonic Boom!"
"Wind Screen!" Sonic cried, waving his hand. A gust of wind canceled out the oncoming attack.
Sonic readied his bow in a blink of an eye and released it the same second. "Straight Shot!"
The arrow whizzed right at Shruic and hit him in the arm. Shruic growled. "Shruic will be back, Brother!" Then he disappeared in a blast of black wind.
"That's one battle done with!" Kara said. Sonic turned to Kara who was now in a sitting position still clutching her stomach from the blow.
"Master Sonic, I-" came the voice of the butler, then he cried. "Master Sonic, what happened?!"
Sonic and Kara looked around the room. The furniture had somehow got outside or were leaning on the opposite walls as the broken windows. Glass had gone everywhere. The TV had been smashed in and the carpet where Kara had launched her attack was charcoal black.
"What's with the get-up?" Tanaka asked, looking from Kara to Sonic. "Are you cosplaying?"
Before Sonic could answer, Kara spoke up. "Yep! Cosplaying gone wrong, Mr. Tanaka!"
"I suggest we fix this area before Master Chris comes home," Tanaka suggested.
"That's a plan," Sonic said.
