Chapter 3

“I’m fine, don’t worry about me.”

Jill finally made contact with Chris and Sheva. She was going to try and find a way out, but now, she needed to inform them of how to stop Wesker. It was the least that she could do after what the bastard forced her to do.

“Just listen carefully, there’s something I need to tell you. Wesker’s superhuman strength, it comes from a virus…but the virus isn’t stable. In order to maintain balance, he must inject himself regularly with a serum.”

Jill explained, her breath, she was trying to catch it. It seemed that she was still regaining her strength from her fight with Chris and Sheva earlier. But she had to continue.

“So if we cut the supply of serum, he loses his strength.”

The African beauty concluded.

“Affirmative, but he just took a dose so it’s gonna be a while before he needs another one.”

Jill added. Talk about taking away hope from the hopeless. Although it was a fact, it wasn’t too long ago since Wesker had taken one of his regular doses of the serum.

“Damn.”

Chris spoke through the other line, now a bit unsure of how to prevent the bastard from succeeding in his plans.

“Listen, Excella said that the amount administered has to be precise, so if he injects too much it should act like a poison. I think she used the serum under PG67A/W. I’m gonna try to find a way to escape; you need to find that serum. Excella always kept it with her in an air-tight suitcase-Hello, Chris, Sheva!“

The transmission ended. Something had suddenly jammed the signal.

“Very nicely briefed Jill, I’ll make sure to put the blame on you if they ever hinder Mr. Wesker’s plans.”

The cold feminine voice startled the blonde making her turn around. The approaching figure had a jammer in hand. That would explain why the signal was lost. Reddish brown tresses now came into view as she held both her hands up in level with her head as she approached. Half tinted dark rose colored shades covered her eyes and a smirk was tugging at her lips.

“Who are you!?”

Jill questioned as she went into a defensive stance. The approaching figure simple shook her head as she lifted the glasses from her eyes and allowed it to sit atop her head, nestled securely against her hair.

“So easy to forget, I’m hurt.”

“You…you’re Rin Gates. You’re seriously working for Wesker?”

“Of course, I wouldn’t have been part of the experiment team working on you if I wasn’t. Come now, I at least expected a hello from you.”

Rin dropped the jammer on the floor as well as the suitcase in her other hand, and in a bat of an eyelash, she was gone from her current position. The girl had made a dash for Jill, making sure that she was at her maximum speed as she threw a hearty punch directed at Jill’s chest. Feeling it connect, she didn’t stop there. Before the blond could land on the ground, she grabbed her by the arm and twisted her around, trapping her there in place before hitting the back of her knees successfully making her legs buckle underneath her weight. At this point, Rin kept a firm hold on her before taking a syringe out of her pocket then rammed it at the side of Jill’s neck, making her scream out. Rin extracted a blood sample which would help her study the antibodies that Jill had within her system. Once the deed was done, Rin released the blond and went back to where her suitcase was. It was an air tight metallic case. Opening it, she placed the syringe filled with blood inside. She was ensured that her newly acquired blood sample would not coagulate.

Getting up from her current slump, Jill charged at Rin only for her to be evaded and blocked. She’d allow a few hits to land, but made sure none were fatal. In her current state, Rin just wanted to humor her new playmate. The next kick that Jill executed resorted in Rin grabbing her ankle only to throw her across the room.

“You…y-you’re just like him.”

“Sorry Jillian, no time to play. I got what I want. And now, I have work to do. Enjoy finding a way out. You’ll be needing it.”

Rin told her before grabbing her suitcase to leave. She couldn’t afford to waste any more time. Soon enough everything would be blown to bits, she had to wait for her copter to arrive, and while doing that extract the information and battle data that Tricell had stored up concerning the BSAA. She had so little time on her hands yet so many things to do.

“Wait, I know you’re not a bad person, so why are you helping him? What are you getting from all of this?”

The redhead stopped walking, as if in contemplation. Why? Did she really need a reason for wanting to aid her boss in his plans? No, she believed she didn’t need one. She simply wanted to help him to the most of her abilities. She had sworn her loyalty to him and she wasn’t going to break his trust. Not again at least. Rin then glanced at Jill who was still half kneeling as she caught her breath. The researcher’s eyes were slanted but worry was in them as well as a building agitation. Chris and his partner were going to ruin everything again. Once again, she lowered her rosette tinted glasses to cover her eyes.

“Believe me…you wouldn’t understand.”

With that said, Rin’s footsteps echoed along the stone corridors and she was out of sight. Jill couldn’t believe the expression that her face had when disclosing her reason. She could understand Excella. The woman was power hungry as well, and had an interest in Wesker because of that and something more. But someone like Rin? Someone who, when not working was quite kind and playful, it was simply impossible, wasn’t it? She could remember the redhead from her memory. Even if she didn’t get to talk to her much she was quite sure that among the other researchers she was the most humane of all. Outside work, Rin often pondered on talking to her but was always caught by Wesker. And when the bastard told the redhead to leave her alone, she complied without second thought, but Jill could remember her smiling kindly at her whenever she caught glimpses of her. So was it really possible that Rin was…? That look on her face conveyed something that Wesker wasn’t deserving of. Jill deduced that the kind researcher was actually in love with a monster.

“No time to be thinking about this…I gotta find a way out.”

Jill finally came to a stand and began looking for a possible escape.
