BSN Semester I - Pt. 1 - Hep J^2

This might sound weird, but I want to go back to nursing school! :(

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but my first official semester for nursing school was really enjoyable. I just had my last final today and I want to go back already. I guess you can call me a work-a-holic or a glutton for pain because I enjoyed most of the work. Most importantly, I'm already missing my study group.

I never really went into the entire story on my blog, but simply put, we met as friends of friends on the first day of orientation. After a week or so before our first exam, we studied together as a group of 5. As the work continued to stack up, we met continuously on a weekly basis and actually named our group Hep J^2 (hep-jay-squared).

I'm gonna jumble some names for anonymity. I'm usually the one who creates flash cards to help everyone memorize everything, uploads PP presentations complete w/ any additional information the professor focuses on or adds, and organizes all digital documents on Google Docs (which is amazing, btw). As the semester went on, I slowly shifted the focus from making these study guides primarily for my benefit to everyone's benefit.

Priscilla is one of the most intellectual girls I've ever met. She has notes from her friends who took our classes before and helps put everything into focus for the exams. She is also very quirky because of her Asian background. She is also an A&P tutor and is planning on tutoring more classes in the long-run. So also looks incredibly young (almost post-middle school) for a 20 year old!

Joanne is aiming for high honors. She's very friendly, yet she's incredibly focused and knows what she's doing. Even though I make a lot of flash cards and whatnot, I think she works the hardest out of everyone in the group. She is very smart and tends to get the max out what she knows for every exam.

Elaine is a pleasure to have. She has to be one of the nicest people I've ever met. If you had a bad day and talk to her, you'll probably feel a lot better because she always finds a way to lighten up every situation. Out of all the members of the group, I want to be like her the most. She has a daughter, who is incredibly adorable, however she's in Colombia until January, so Elaine misses her very much.

Jordan puts a ton of effort into studying, yet it's not reflecting on her exams. She always treats everyone to food and volunteers to be the designated driver whenever we go out to eat. She is the one that we're most concerned about because she might have to retake a class in a year. We're hoping that she makes it through with us.

I think I'll type more about my experience from this semester during this week.. so expect more posts!
