It's Not Up to You

E.L.O. everyone! As you can see, I'm starting to type more formally… I don't know if that's bad or not. It's that or I'm running on a caffeine rush from the cups of tea I had today. I think I had about three small cups and you can never stop me! (I'll do a huuge post on tea sometime in the future!)

Right now, we'll just focus on how my holidays went because I promised ya'll from my last post. Even though the beginning of Christmas was horrible (Go to my last post), the rest of it started to improve. My car is safe and sound, back at home and the whole family over here was excited to hang out with all our cousins again. Tis a good day.

It's almost like any other day hanging out with my cousins, but this time a tree with gifts underneath was present to spread the Christmas joy! I decided to bring my 360 because none of my cousins have one (Their parents won't let them get 1! ;[). I mean… parents, at least be understanding with the new commercials going about for all the new games for the once was "next-generation" consoles. Buy them or allow them to buy one!

Anyways, I also brought my acoustic as well, not knowing that one of my more younger cousins was recently given a new beginner's acoustic guitar (Purchased from Wal-Mart! Lulz!). I really wanted to check it out. The guitar was badly out of tuned. It was a good thing that I brought my handy dandy tuner to fix it! Although I felt like the tuner knobs on the headstock weren't strong enough to survive the string tension for an extended amount of time. It's a good guitar for a beginner!

Most of the day, it was my brother and my cousin playing Fight Night on the 360 and me hanging out with the "scene-sters" cousins. They pretty much listen to a lot of the current whiny mainstream emo/screamo bands that I don't like. I had to put up with a lot of that because my cousin, B***n had a massive collection of those songs on his iPod. There was one song I figured out easily because the chord progression was C, G, Am, and F, which is an overused chord progression. (Search Pachebel Rant on YouTube!). I tried teaching some of my cousins guitar and it was quite difficult, haha.

I'm teaching them the most simple chord, Em, and their fingertips started to hurt after a minute of tension on the string. I don't blame them, but that's how you get better at guitar. You get the calluses on your fingers from learning the simple chords, then you expand towards more complex chords as you start getting used to the fingertip adjustment and placement on the fretboard (Hehe, I should become an amateur guitar teacher). I seriously would give free lessons, but you must have a desire to play and learn the guitar.

After a few hours of hanging out, it was the time to give and receive. One of my uncles announced who got this present and who was it from and we all go, "Yay!" or "Woo!". I like poking fun at things like that, so I went over the top with weird sound effects, haha. I sounded like I was dying in one of my attempts to be funny, teehee. I love Christmas present giving! I received 110 dollars and a sweater from American Eagle (Even though its AE and medium sized, I kinda like it!. It kinda looks like it fits me if I half-ass tucked it in.

We continued doing the same stuff. The little kids were still as tiring as ever, but we got through. I tried wine tasting, but I didn't like the wine they had there. I think it was a Cabernet Sauvignon from 2005… I don't remember. I thought that it was too strong for me to handle, haha. It was kinda too hot from the back end, if you catch my Wine Library Gary Vaynerchuk reference. Afterwards, we had to go back to our separate ways.

I will see my cousins yet again on New Years Day and it will be fun because they'll be visiting our house, where all the fun is. My cousins like it over here than any one else's house. I don't know if I should boast in our raising of the fun level or be indifferent about it, haha. We all get that feeling of being spoiled, you know?

I seriously hope I didn't bore you with this massive post! I actually enjoyed posting today. It's almost 2 AM and I'm going to go to bed in a bit. I have work later today. Earning money is fun, especially when you earn money with people you really like at the same time. Just remember, sometimes you'll never really appreciate anything until it's gone.

That's my two cents (I gotta stop saying that! Haha). I hope ya'll had an amazing Christmas. I'll talk about New Years in a few days, so keep that in mind. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. My parents gave me 50 dollars last week, but today my dad bought me a new car battery and my mom bought me a new chair! Haha.

Question of the day. What was the best Christmas gift you've ever received and how significant is it in your life?

I'd say that it was this anime soundtrack that my friend, H***n bought for me way back in high school. It was an import from Japan as well, but yeah, what FYE store sells a rack full of anime soundtracks? I really appreciated it because it was probably the first gift I've received outside of the family that I really liked in ages. I still have it today and it's in a pretty decent condition.

Well peoples. As I usually say, take it easy!

Sherr

Here's today's new song for you to try out (If you want to!):

I think that the titles of my blog posts will be song names I'll attempt to post on here. I'm listening to Bjork's Vespertine yet again. I really love this album!
