Reviewing
Right now, I'm really bored.. so I'll just post how I rate things such as music or movies.
Ever since I joined groups online for the sake of critiquing things, I started to form my own opinions on reviewing.
I'm sure back in the day, we would shun something and give it negative ratings just because we intrinsically hate it for some reason.
Well, now I'm starting to appreciate almost everything I see.
Even though, this seems obvious from the get go, I find the best way to rate something is to not rate it about what it's topic, but to rate it on its execution on expressing that idea or topic.
This might seem like a simple idea, but I see so many people on sites like MAL who bash shows just because it's "not for them."
Ex: I'm going to bash K-On!! because it's a moeblob. I think Kampfer is retarded and takes itself seriously. Monster is boring.
Even though I don't want to be a professional critic or something, I find it a bit difficult to give a very good objective rating of something. I want to learn more about properly analyzing character development, the overall idea or big picture, and the progression of the storyline.
Properly reviewing something, for me, is a learning process. I want some input. How exactly do you guys rate and critique something? I've been so focused too much on critiquing healthcare articles that my television and movie knowledge is rusting.
Crit 01
Here's a new segment that I'm going to call Crit. Sure, it's not right just to criticize someone who's right or thinks he/she is right..
But here, I believe that I have good intentions for doing it.
"When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them anyway."
This is a quote from Marilyn Monroe that a Facebook friend posted as her bio. The first part is a decent section. She's mature to the point where she doesn't care about what people say or think about her. Good for you, girl.
However, the second part makes me a bit worried. What if I WANT to bother with what you do just because I'm interested? In her mind, that behavior alone justifies her superiority over someone? Apparently, she sees herself as superior and isolated from those who want to bother her.
Well, you can argue that the usage of bother is very vague. It could be bother as in annoying or constantly getting in the way.. That I can understand. The bother that I'm "bothering" about is when caring about someone is replaced with bother. Ex: "Oh, I want to bother you because you're so interesting!"
I hope that it's the annoying bother. If it's the latter, then that quote is messed up.
Akinator
The first time I played this, I was kinda amazed.
Although the algorithms that go into finding who you're thinking are most likely the same throughout..
There's just something fun about how Akinator gets it right 85% of the time.

Update: So my newest vector trace is out.
It took around 5-6 hours since I finished some final adjustments.
I'm kinda happy about this one because I can finally outline somewhat well without making it too tacky and thick.

Before & After
This is a trace I've been doing.
I think it's been taking me at least 4-5 hours in total..
But I've learned a good way to trace the annoying little line art which was a nightmare to me before.
Here's a preview of the before and after. :]
Expect a full blown trace by tomorrow or so.
I want to make a wallpaper, but I'd have to make her hands and some portions of her feet myself.

This is an image from a local town website, Future Nurses, that showcases gifted future nurses.
Anyways, as the title states.. I am happy. :]
My friend told me that I got into the Nursing program.
We just went to the department right now to transfer..
But I have to wait a week for my other major's department head to sign the change of majors paper.
Despite all that annoying work, I'm so glad right now..
But just know I mustn't let my guard down.
Our University-degree Nursing curriculum looks really tough.
From now on, it's going to be an uphill battle..
And I have to have all the preparations ready for the unexpected.
Haha, I'm sorry for those who probably believed the Future Nurses thing.
I think there is indeed a Future Nurses magazine, but I wasn't showcased.
