So it was a weekday afternoon and I was on the highway for about 10 minutes. Everything on the road seemed to be going smoothly. However, I soon had to brake because of the massive oncoming traffic. Usually, this happens on the busy weekends, but you can say that it can happen anytime because there are a lot of bad drivers out there!
I only wanted to go to the mall and shop around, but there just had to be traffic in the way to prolong my agony of transporting. Well, I soon made it past the traffic cloud only to realize that those minutes of waiting were because someone had to get rear ended. Well, it is their problem and the drivers shouldn't have either been tailgating or stopping short, but other drivers nearby shouldn't slow down and investigate what happened. So someone got rear ended, move on. At least it wasn't me.
I'm just going to list the many nuances that get in the way or really annoy between me and my destination:
The slow drivers. Self-explanatory. Seriously, why do you even bother driving when you're 10-20 mph under the speed limit? Especially on the left lane.
The I-will-not-signal drivers. These drivers are the most annoying, especially on a left turn on a four way road with oncoming traffic. This always happens. I'm going to take a left, but the guy on the opposing side of traffic is going to take a right onto the right side lane of that two lane road, when I want to take the left lane. Well, he doesn't signal and I'm forced to wait for the traffic to continue or for someone else to signal to me that he's going right. I hate waiting. This can also apply to those who don't signal on the highway because that's really dangerous.
The go-straight-in-a-line-fast showoff racers. I'm not a fan of drag racing. Yeah, it may take skill to change the gears to optimize your engine's performance, but you're still going in a straight line. Take it to the toge. I believe real racing involves a complex set of turns while changing gears to optimize your engine's performance at the same time. Also, a lot of kids my age still want to illegally drag race. Lame! Don't show off on the highway either because there's no point. I've been tailgated so many times by these guys, it's not even funny.
The look-at-mah-hook-ups drivers. They may not be bad drivers, but their cars are eyesores. However, combined with bad and reckless driving is a deadly combination. I believe that there is a fine line between style and just too much. Sure, add subtle differences that will positively affect the car's performance and enhance the car's image while retaining the stock look. But I hate when people over-do it (Pimp My Ride). Sure, I wouldn't mind having a small tv or GPS in my car, but why must my car have decals, rims, a flashy hood, and a massive spoiler? Also it may be cool, but sometimes it's inappropriate especially if your car is an old beat up Honda from the 80s.
I'm sure that there's a lot more. I might just give an update on whatever I encounter today on my commute to college, around, and back.
