Toma snuck quietly into the kuchiki mansion. All was quiet.
Tiptoeing, she made her way to the family shrine.
The shrine was a dark building that anyone rarely came in. It was mostly during festivals it was in use. Even then, the building was, well, creepy. It's dark walls and old statues gave off shadows. Old inscence gave a musky smell.
Toma went strait to a statue of a man with a sword. His features were grave and sullen, not even a smile. His sword was a dark colored blade.
Toma bowed in respect. Then, she began to light a bunch of insence sticks and candles.
The light made the shrine less scary. It began to reveal the ancient beauty of the statues.
All had the same hair decorations nobles of the kuchiki family wore and white scarfs the family would put on the statues evey year.
Toma stared at the statue. "Forgive me," she muttered. She grabbed the sword out of the statue's hand.
She held the handle. Twurling it a couple times, she tucked it into her belt.
Toma turned and walked out of the shrine.
She looked to the east.
A blood red dawn.
