Awakening

Raidon was thrown through the wall hard as he tried to regain his balance. He had lost track of how long this fight has been going. All he knew was that he was losing. Kurai stepped through the hole in the wall, taking slow steps.
“Come, now. You’re not even trying.” Kurai said with a scoff.
“Are you kidding me?! I haven’t even scratched you yet!!” Rai yelled back. He was in bankai, but he was horribly beaten up. Cover in cuts, gashes, bruises, and a variety of other injuries as well as his own blood. Kurai, on the other hand, was still as white as a clean cloth, except for where Raidons blood splattered on his clothes.
“This is truly pathetic… even after your friends saved you from yourself…” Kurai replied with a sigh.
“What did you say?!” Rai stood up and attacked again. His blade struck air as Kurai dodged it. The hollow spun his halberd behind his back before swinging it with some force. Raidon barely guarded it. He was sent airborne from the force. Rai used his wings to regain balance, but when he looked down, Kurai was nowhere to be seen. Rai quickly landed.
If I’m in the air, I’m only a sitting duck… but on the ground, it’s like hide-n-seek… Rai thought to himself. He took a glance at his surroundings. Now where are you?A large crumbling sound from the wall to his left interrupted Rais train of thought. He turned as the wall crumbled, revealing a charging Cero.
“Game over.”
There was no time to dodge or even try to block. Rai was blasted near point-blank range. Feathers where sent sky high in a flurry. Rai was on his knees, shuddering from the pain.
D…damn it…
“Irony… how the test truly left you with nothing…” Kurai said, patience thinning. Al he needed to do was break Raidons will. Bringing up old memories should give weaken it.
“Wh… What in… the hell… are you talking about…?” Rai wheezed. He was out of breath and could barely move. But, his will was still burning brightly.
“I mean your trip to that other dimension. The castle… Yumei… Yakunan… When you break a zanpakutos spirit, their true intentions are revealed.”
“I… have no idea… what you are talking about……”
“I went through all of his memories as well as your own. Your zanpakuto was merely testing you. He materialized different aspects of your self. The maid was your loyalty. The evil guy was your determination… and in the end, you passed…”
Raidon was barely following anything he said. His mind was too focused on how to get out alive. But eventually, he began to listen.
Wait…that was…a test…and my friends intervened… I’m so confused… this makes no sense…
Kurai sighed in frustration. “I’ll sum it up for you, that whole incident was a test for you and your friends. However, your bloodlust was awakened and now it’s dormant. All I need to do is kill you when you’ve gone mad with bloodlust. That’s all. That’s where your willpower comes from.”
I remember now…Hisa barely saved everything from me…
“Oh well… If you die now, that saves me a lot of trouble. I was hoping for some fun, but this is sad. Too bad.” Kurai swung Kurairyuujin in an uppercut. Rai blocked it, but broke his zanpakuto. The blade itself flew several feet before sticking in the ground. Rai was on his feet, but not for long. Kurai swung the halberd back down, striking Raidon across the chest, leaving a deep gash. Blood flew. Rai stood for a moment before falling to the ground.
“Now die. Suffer before your friends do…” Kurai turned his back and began to walk away. Rai was barely breathing. His head was swimming.
I don’t… wanna die here…there’s so much… I wanted to do…my friends…won’t they weep…? Last thing… they need is… the death of a friend…and my family………
Raidon felt a surge of anger in his heart.
That’s right…Aizen killed my old man… even though he was kinda evil, he still killed him…
Raidons eyes opened slowly with a gleam of pure vengeance.
That bastard…if I die now…then he might get what’s coming to him…I hate him…with my entire being…
Raidon got up slowly. He wasn’t smiling in the least, but his eyes had a look of pure evil and bloodlust.
I HATE HIM!!!
Kurai turned as he heard Rai standing up.
“Kid, I thought you were dying…” He said with a sigh. Raidon said nothing in reply. Still sighing, he rushed in for the killing strike. Raidons blood flew once more. Rai looked at how he blocked. The edge of the halberd was gripped in his hands. He caught it, but the swing still cut near the base of his thumb. A small smile appeared on his face, which caught Kurai by surprise.
“Don’t you think… that blood kinda smells like mint…?” Rai said with an evil snicker. Then, he brought his foot up and nailed Kurai right in the jaw. Spinning around, Rai disarmed him and then lodged his own weapon in the hollows leg. To follow up, he jumped a to the broken edge of Akumamitsukai and grabbed it. Blood dripped from his hand as he held it firmly. Kurai removed his weapon, causing him to bleed.
“That was a nice move…” Kurai said knowing Raidon was serious. Raidons smile faded as he looked deep into Kurais eyes.
“By the time I’m through with you… even hell will seem like a kinder punishment…” Raidon glared. He let out a growl from his throat as his spiritual pressure spiked.
Then Raidon attacked. The broken blade was swung with unnatural speed as it struck. Kurai was guarding. But the grip on the halberd was beginning to break. Finally, Raidon broke it in two. The bladed edge was knocked out of Kurais hand with a kick, and then grasped by Rai. He then went berserk as he went into a frenzy. Blood was flying and hitting the ground. The two broken weapons in Raidons hands created a deadly dance as they were swung through the air, striking their target with cold malice. Raidon dealt a cross-slash across Kurais chest. The hollow backed up and went to charge a fast Cero, but Raidon let dark energy surrond both weapons in his hand. The darkness caused them to fuse together for a moment, but the attack was so fast, the weapon couldn’t be seen. I pike-like weapon impaled Kurai, and then Raidon drew it out as the hollow fell to its knees. The darkness faded as Raidon separated the broken weapons and crossed his arms, leaving both edges on opposite sides of Kurais neck. Kurai looked up and saw bloodlust and hatred in Raidons eyes. Rai glared ever more menacingly as he let out another growl…

Human World
Hisa felt a shiver go down her spine. She stopped walking and looked over at Raidon.
Wh-what was that…?
A cracking noise was heard as The Hollow mask broke off of Raidons face. Takeshi set him on the ground, seeing if he was okay.
“Hey… wake up.”
The group watched as Raidon slowly opened his eyes. At first, they were expressionless. Then he gritted his teeth as he clutched his chest and stomach.
“Ghh… gaa… THIS HURTS LIKE HELL!!!” He yelled out loud as curled up into a ball.
Akane sighed and took control of the situation.
“Then quit your crying at let me take a look.” She said. Not much was said in a few seconds, as blood began to rapidly seep through Raidons clothes. Rai gave a week laugh.
“Heh heh heh… sorry…” Blood dripped from his mouth as he spoke. “ If I stop applying pressure, then I’ll die before you can treat me…”
“That doesn’t sound too promising…” Takeshi said, eyeing how the bloodstains were creeping down Raidons shirt. “Looks like we got no choice. Kisuke Urahara will have to take care of you until your injuries.”
“If you haven’t noticed, I’m kinda running short on time here…” Rai smiled weakly as he fought back tears of pain.
“You underestimate me, Rai.” Akane stated, stainding up. “I can handle injuries. Even stuff like this.” Rai still did not look too pleased at whose hands he was putting his life into. Akane crossed her arms and looked away from Raidon. “Or, we can just let you die.”
“Fine… Just don’t kill me in the process…”
