Hiro was led away to get his wound properly treated, and I stood there and thought for a few seconds. Maybe I could have used my healing song on him, but it hasn’t worked since the day I used it on Hisa, it hasn’t even worked when I’ve tried it on myself. Oh well, he’s in good hands. I went out to the training grounds, and saw there was no one around. I sat down by a tree and closed my eyes. Rai had been avoiding me lately, or so it seemed. Hiro was usually off doing who knows what, and I had been training hard trying to perfect my technique with Sosobutai. Hisa was obviously not around anymore really, but I knew she was doing good things for Captain Hitsugya. I missed her terribly, but there wasn’t anything I could do. I had to work my way up like she did. I hummed a few songs and tried thinking about how to fight to them. I had a few I wanted to save for a hard opponent. I discovered I couldn’t repeat a song twice in a row. I didn’t know why, but I just couldn’t. And that with a few of them I gained some abilities, like control over certain elements for the duration of the song. But I only found a few of those so far. I was still working towards my bankai. I wanted it so bad, but I knew I had to push even more. I heard a twig snap and I flew up into a defensive position. “Oops.” I heard a female.
“Show yourself!” I ordered. I saw Suchi emerge and I blinked.
“I was here to observe, but now I guess…” She pulled out a whip.
“Take one more step…” I warned. She did just that and I released my shikai. “Sing Sosobutai.” I ran towards her. She seemed like a long rage fighter, so I thought the best way to combat that was to get close. My song was fast, but not super fast, which was a huge mistake I made. I connected with her arm once, but she countered with a powerful blow that sent me flying into a tree. I tasted the blood, but continued to fight. She smiled as she dodged most of my moves. I spun around her and avoided her hits for a bit as well, until she faked a punch and kicked me instead. I felt myself fall and I tried to catch myself so I could at least try to trip her, but she pulled me up and threw me against another tree. I couldn’t take much more of this and the song was over with. I tried desperately to get going on another one, but she was already over me. I knew Rai couldn’t help me. He ran in the opposite direction and was sulking somewhere. Hisa was so far away that she couldn’t have helped me, even if she did sense something was wrong. Hiro was in the hospital as far as I knew. I was alone.
“Weak.” She spat.
“I am not.” I said.
“Well, it won’t matter anyway.” She kicked me again and this time I felt like I was going to pass out. “You’ll die and I’ll just report back that nothing of importance happened.” I heard her walk away, and I laid there, unable to move, and my eyes closed. I’m, sorry… I heard someone run up to me, and I heard them say something, but I couldn’t make out what they said or who it even was.
