Obama Sports Tuxedos When He Meets Beautiful Ladies

I have been spreading this everywhere today, so why not here, too?

Barack Obama supports sexy manga ladies. I now feel better about the direction our country is going in!

That's Ren and Stimpy. They're Way Existential.

OK, today is a new day. Still quite annoyed with my state, but I am leaving that alone for now. I left a mass of vitriol and venom in my wake last night in the post below this if you are at all curious. A brand new week means brand new movi...

Woo?

Congrats to President Obama. I was not a supporter of Obama or McCain, so I was prepared for disappointment, but at least with Obama we have history and are far less likely to enter into another super retarded war, so there is that, at least. I can see the positive, everyone!

What's annoying me FAR more, however, are the election shenanigans going on in my state, California. Prop 8 -- the gay marriage ban -- is the big issue here, and it is passing at the moment by a margin of 53.8 percent to 46.2 percent. Not to sound bitter, and if I offend anyone, I apologize, but I love how my state can whack itself off for helping elect the first African-American president (and rightfully so -- it is a historical moment), and then turn around and approve this retarded piece of hate legislation.

I don't get it. What right does government have inserting itself into marriage? There is no reason for it. If churches want to not marry gay couples (or marry them), then that is their deal, their belief, what the fuck ever. I may not agree with it, but I don't run the church. But why must it be a government mandate? It's absolutely ridiculous. In an ideal world, government would have no influence over marriage -- IMO, that would also include repealing all the benefits married couples receive (many of which could be handled by contract law), but I realize not everyone would be for this. Regardless, I am bewildered as to how people can be OK with any government having a say in who can marry each other.

Everything else is just whatever. Wasteful government spending bills are being put down -- barely, but they are being put down, thank God. California's budget is fucked, people. Like, ridiculously fucked right now. My state went WAY past deadline to even get something done. And, yet, people are barely defeating bills that would require nearly $12 billion in bonds. Hey, we are struggling to work through our problems with education and crime and everything, but LET'S MAKE A CHOO-CHOO TRAIN GO FROM L.A. TO SAN FRANCISCO YEAH. Ugh, kiss my ass. At least the horrible energy bills are getting the smack laid down on them.

And, of course, my choice of House Representative got destroyed. I went with the Narutard, eventually, although I felt like someone was repeatedly punching me in the gut while I did it. Oh well, I knew he probably would not win. Toppling a Congressional incumbent is a horribly difficult task -- they basically have to become a serial child killer and drink the blood of newborn puppies on live television before people will vote them out.

Argh. Voting really sucks, sometimes.

EDIT: Ugh, fuck I hate this. I know I should be feeling hopeful right now, but tonight has reminded me how ridiculously retarded my state can be. I am legitimately disgusted when looking at some of these election results. Fucking hell.

EDIT2: Last thing I want to say about Prop 8. I am a believer that the basic reason for the existence of government is to protect the rights of people: The right to life, the right to liberty and the right to property. There are other things government is supposed to do, but those are the very basics. How does something like Prop 8 IN ANY WAY support that? How does it protect our right to life? Our right to liberty? Our right to property? How does it contribute IN ANY WAY to the well being of California's citizens? It doesn't. There is absolutely no point to it other than to strip the rights of a certain group of citizens. It is pointless -- it is a pointless hate law.

I fucking hate this state right now. California is so friggin' hypocritical -- it prides itself on being this open, metropolitan place, and then we pass Prop 8 by a decent margin. What a fucking crock.

EDIT3: Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd now two bills I thought were going to be defeated -- both of which further California's tradition of wasteful government spending -- appear to be on their way to passing now. Awesome. I can't take this now -- I need some friggin' sleep.

Raising Many Questions
