Podcast hyyyyyyyyyyyyyype

So Shy and I recorded the next episode of the OB Podcast with Boo and Korey earlier today. It was a blast; we went on for more than 90 minutes, so, uh, Boo is in for a lot of editing whenever he gets around to that. Good times! Many interesting things came up during this episode, and I believe this was the first instance of someone posting on OB while recording the podcast. We're making history here! (Unless someone else did it before me. Then we're not making history.)

Anyway, yeah, Boo and Korey are great fun as hosts, and if you have the opportunity to go on the show, then you should definitely give it a shot. They usually record at 1:30 p.m. EST/10:30 a.m. PST on Wednesdays, so there you go. They are fun enough for me to shill shamelessly about them.

By the way, they remembered to insert a spot for chibi master's segment this time, so no awkward editing in afterward! Yay!

Juuuuuuuuust a bit outside ...

Remember, The Stepford Wives tonight! Be there! Singin' in the Rain (1952): Is it possible to not have fun while watching this? I don't think so. Donald O'Co...

A silly venture.

I've often been amused at the various fake brands you see in anime, and occasionally I would wonder if anyone had ever taken the time to document the vast amount of ripoff products concocted by animation studios. The answer ... no.

Until now.

I've started a Tumblr blog -- IT'S A SOMY -- dedicated solely to cataloguing any and every silly ersatz commercial product in anime. My main goal is to provide a place where anime fans can have a few giggles as they recall all the goofy products they've seen in series.

However, I am but one man. I humbly request that if any of you happen to watch a show and see a fake product, then take a few seconds to save a screenshot, upload it somewhere (Imageshack works great) and shoot a link over to me. There are a bajillion places where I can be contacted; feel free to use any of them. Proper credit will of course be given to those who help me.

EDIT: This probably goes without saying, but also provide the name of the series (even if you are reasonably sure I have watched the show) and context if you think it is needed.

Hopefully this grows quickly and provides fun for people!

(P.S. The Stepford Wives won the movie poll, and the video should be uploaded by the time I get home tonight, so I'll throw that post up later.)

Get me a tarantula.

Make 'em laugh.

Singin' in the Rain won the vote, so we will be watching that this coming Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the usual time, 10 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. PDT. The movie is 98 minutes.

The room will be called The Dancing Cavalier, and the password will be talkie.

Hope to see you there!

EDIT: lol totally got distracted, so I forgot to bump this. Now to make the room!
