The original idea has had a few days to germinate, so I might as well bring it up again, right?
For at least the next couple of weeks, I have Mondays and Tuesdays off. Don't know how that works for most people, but that's what we have to work with for now, unless people suddenly want to do this in late morning/early afternoon (which I think is unlikely). Also, for the east coasters among us, what time is most convenient? 8 p.m.? 9 p.m.? Earlier, later?
Then, of course, we have to choose the movie. Along with the PG-13 limit, we should probably have a time limit as well -- I think 2 hours, 15 minutes is the absolute longest we should go, and even that would only be for a damn good movie. Otherwise, one-and-a-half to two hours is the ideal time, I think.
As for actually choosing the movie, I think a process like Anime Club's is best -- toss up 5-10 movies (though I'd prefer as few nominations as possible, just so that votes don't get too fractured), related links so that people can read up on the movies a bit and see what interests them, and then we vote on what we want to see most.
I won't enforce an age limit on nominated movies -- just strongly suggest that the older the suggested movie, the better, and that in the cases of ties (in which case I will be the tiebreaker), I'll be heavily biased toward the older movie, just because fewer people are likely to have seen it.
That said, nominate whatever you please, whether it's a movie you enjoy and want others to like, or it's a movie you have heard a lot about and are curious to see yourself. Post suggestions in the comments (feel free to suggest multiple movies, but be sure to highlight which is your most desired suggestion), and I'll pick a few, edit this post with 'em and we can vote from there. Fun!
Last thing: Obviously the best way to watch these is through legal channels -- owning the movie yourself, or getting it from a rental store/library/Netflix/whatever. But, of course, that's not always possible, especially on relatively short notice. I'll do my best to find a non-shady streaming source, but as a last resort, I'd be willing to find MegaUpload links.
