The future is full of cats and orgies.

Haha, well, Logan's Run was an interesting movie, and you all made it a great watch! Glad TC was able to join us this week! Anyway, time to present the next batch of movies up for vote.

1. A Scanner Darkly (2006): Bob Arctor is an undercover agent posing as a drug user and attempting to find the source of the illegal Substance D, a psychoactive drug that causes neurological damage to the point of giving users split personalities. Arctor surveys his friends, and as his own addiction to Substance D grows, he becomes unable to distinguish between himself as a police officer and himself as a drug user. Directed by Richard Linklater, starring Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr. and Woody Harrelson.

2. Dirty Harry (1971): Harry Callahan is a tough cop on the trail of "Scorpio", a sadistic serial killer who toys with the police. Callahan tries everything he can to bring Scorpio in but finds his hands tied time and again by the law. To catch Scorpio, though, Callahan is willing to push the law as far as it can possibly go. Directed by Don Siegel, starring Clint Eastwood and Andy Robinson.

3. The Sting (1973): Johnny Hooker is a small-time grifter who pushes his luck a bit too far and flees to Chicago to seek help from an old friend, Henry Gondorff. Henry is initially reluctant to take Johnny under his wing, but soon Henry and Johnny decide to pull off an elaborate scam on crime boss Doyle Lonnegan. Directed by George Roy Hill, starring Robert Redford, Paul Newman and Robert Shaw.

4. The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951): An extraterrestrial ship comes to Earth, and from it emerges the alien life form, Klaatu, who announces that he is on a mission of goodwill. After an initially violent reception, Klaatu says that his people have grown wary of Earth after humanity has developed atomic power. If Earth continues in an aggressive direction, the planet shall be eliminated. Will humans learn to stop being so violent? Directed by Robert Wise, starring Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal and Billy Gray.

5. The Lady from Shanghai (1947): Michael O'Hara meets the beautiful blonde Elsa and is convinced to work as a seaman on the boat of Elsa's husband, the elderly defense attorney, Arthur Bannister. After a while, Bannister's partner, George Grisby, approaches Michael with a plan: Help fake Grisby's death so that someone can collect the insurance on the behalf of Grisby and give Michael a good chunk of change for his troubles. Michael agrees, but soon comes to regret his decision as he plunges into a complex plot of murder and deceit. Directed by and starring Orson Welles, Rita Hayworth and Everett Sloane.
