Something Good and Something Bad

I feel much better today after having a prolonged dizzy spell pretty much all day yesterday. I'm not completely recovered, but at least I can stand up without wanting to projectile vomit all over the place.

Also excited about two major events this week - first is the start of my internship at the Daily Pilot Friday! I miss working at The Poly Post so much, so I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things at a newspaper. I heard from my friend at the paper that the copy editors have been asking about where their intern is, haha. Can't wait to meet my co-workers!

Saturday will be lots of fun, too, because I'll be at a goodbye party for my friend Ashley, who will be leaving for Syracuse to attend graduate school. I'm sad that it will be at least a year before I see her again; however, she's always so positive around everybody, so I am going to stay positive and have a great time at her party. :)

Furthermore, there is my debut at The Writers Bloc. I had a lot of fun writing this even though I took at least six or seven breaks from it due to extreme dizziness. Writing it gave me some nice perspective on what I look for when I write, though, so that was nice. Hopefully it's something different than they're used to seeing.

Not all is sunshine and roses down here, unfortunately. Sports fans should know that the Lakers were mauled by the Celtics last night in the deciding game of the NBA Finals, 131-92. It was four points short of being the most lopsided loss in NBA Finals history.

The worst part about it is that I cannot be pissed off at the Celtics for blatantly running up the score in the fourth quarter. They deserved to embarrass the Lakers, because L.A. flat out gave up after the first few minutes of the game. It was a pathetic effort - they deserved to lose every minute they spent on the court this entire series. Just completely disgraceful.

This is probably hyperbole to the max, but I am 99.9 percent sure that I have never hated a Lakers team more than I hate this Lakers team right now. How could a team rip through such a strong conference so easily and then just roll over and die against a team that went to seven games against the freakin' Hawks and Cavaliers???? How is that possible????? I hope this loss burns constantly in their minds the entire summer and that there are at least a million features written about it when the 2008-09 season starts so that the whole team can remember what a bunch of bums they were when another team actually pushed them.

Anyway, just so this post does not end with so much negativity, here is a picture of the very pretty Yumi Kikuchi, who is the model for Raging Raven in Metal Gear Solid 4:
