A Title Does Not Spring to Mind

The ranking system continues to confuse me. This site dropped 60 spots from #36 to #96 (not really concerned about that at all), BUT the Library of Loons, which has not updated in more than two months, mind, sprang from somewhere in the mid-1000s to #157.

You figure it out.

I recently received an e-mail about an internship I applied for about a month ago -- it would not take up much of my time (about 12-15 hours per week, which is a drop in the bucket), but any experience is good experience. (Not that I actually have the internship yet. I have to edit a couple of sample articles sent to me, and I suppose I'll get the job based on how well the articles are edited.) Protip: Journalism -- not the best career choice if, you know, you actually want to find work. Wish I'd known that when I entered college!

Des' post in the fall anime thread got me to thinking about what my exact favorites are so far this season. I've still got a few episodes to watch (including a new series, Kurozuka, which I became interested in after Fasterisk sung its praises, and maybe Kannagi since Des has become so enthusiastic about it), which is why a ginormous post will come later, but here is a rough outline:

Favorites

-- Chaos;Head
-- Clannad ~After Story~
-- Toradora!
-- Shugo Chara! Doki (OK, the first episode is basically a recap of the first season, but there is no way this is not a favorite)
-- Kurozuka

Very Enjoyable

-- Hyakko
-- To Aru Majutsu no Index
-- Shikabane Hime: Aka (though, to be honest, Hyakko is a good ways ahead of these two at the moment)

Decent

-- Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka
-- Kyo no Gononi

Terrible

-- Ga-Rei -Zero-
-- Yozakura Quartet (dropped)

And there you go. For some reason, this reminds me that I need to get cracking on my Halloween story. 20th Century Boys distracted me like crazy this weekend. I am suddenly busy!

EDIT: OK, I just watched the first two episodes of Kurozuka -- if you are starved for a good action series this season, then this is your show. It's a beautifully animated, bloody as hell samurai series that also seems to be set in modern times, I guess, judging from the ending of the second episode.

Also, this recommendation on My Anime List made me lol (it compares Kurozuka favorably to Mnemosyne):

"Both anime have main characters living a long ass time through different eras. Both definitely do not skimp on the violence and sex. However, Mnemosyne has more lesbians."

If that is not a good review, then I don't know what is.
