I had a bit of fun yesterday -- went to see Noises Off at Cal Poly Pomona with my brother and sister. They had seen the play before, and they had also seen the movie adaptation by Peter Bogdanovich, but it was my first time seeing it. I'm sure they had quite the good time confusing me while they nerded it up before the play began. :P
The play is good, though, very funny. For those who don't know, it's about a theatre company that tries to produce a bawdy sex comedy but fails miserably due to the rapidly deteriorating relationships among the actors, the director and the production assistants. The first act, which shows the dress rehearsal, is funny, but the play gets really hilarious during the second and third acts, which show everyone bungling things up backstage and onstage during live performances.
There were more people there to see it than I expected. A lot of them were friends/family of the actors, I assume, but maybe other people just needed a distraction from the wildfires that have been giving California problems recently. No fires are close to me, thankfully, but the smell of smoke is still strong around these parts. I hope the fires are completely contained as soon as possible. Here's hoping for favorable winds.
Anyway, that's about it from me. I've got a crapload of anime to watch today -- new releases for Kannagi, Shugo Chara! Doki, Kyo no Gononi, Chaos;Head and To Aru Majutsu no Index, as well as more episodes of X (which I am enjoying so far, although I think Kamui is a huge asshole).
