Lost in Lost

Time to get the backstory of Locke's magical inland tour. Onward!

-- Appears as though Airport Dude found his way into an island hatch.
-- Nice magazines. This place is like a dentist's waiting room.
-- Cesar is a good name.
-- Suspicious Security Chick is suspicious.
-- ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXANNE *shot many times*
-- LOCKE LIIIIIIIIIIVES
-- Alana is hawt.
-- Lapidus and someone else hightailed it with the stuff. Who else could have landed with him? I assume all the Oceanic Six transported through time already.
-- Locke really loves being mysterious again.
-- Did Ben vomit upon re-entry? I don't think so. Also, why always with the desert, huh?
-- Yay for Random Helpful Tunisians!
-- wtf @ creepy staring Oceanic guy
-- OW OW OW OW OW
-- I guess he'll heal, at least.
-- Where did Widmore come from??
-- Haha, he still remembers meeting Locke. Awesome.
-- "You look exactly the same." Shades of Richard Alpert.
-- Oh ho! The plot thickens! So, Tunisia is the dropoff ... and Widmore knows this, because (presumably) he too once moved the island, courtesy of trickery by one Ben Linus.
-- And there ya go -- Widmore was once the Others' leader. A reason to find the island is revealed!
-- o rly war. What side is Widmore on? Who does he want to win? What side does Ben fall on? Christian? Richard Alpert? I like that so many loyalties are being questioned, and that the "good" side and "bad" side are not clearly defined. Like, Widmore's story sounds believable, but Locke (before Ben usurped him) had to move the island for a reason. What would that reason be, if it's not Widmore? Also, why did Ben move the island in Locke's place?
-- lol, Locke is a Canadian.
-- The Oceanic Six have been watched like hawks.
-- Widmore knows nothing about Locke having to die. Someone's out of the loop!
-- Locke is not a fan of Mr. Oceanic.
-- hay sayid lol
-- Sayid is such a helpful guy now.
-- Sayid wants no part of the island. Too bad, good sir.
-- zomg Walt
-- Walt can see the future. :O Foreshadowing!
-- "Good thing they're just dreams! :D" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAno.
-- "Where's my dad?" Awkward ...
-- WTF CREEPY STARING BEN IS CREEPY
-- Also, he looks like a history professor.
-- Hurley, you are amazing.
-- Hurley is also not a fan of Mr. Oceanic. LOL @ "LALALALALALALALA"
-- This guy is kind of a prick.
-- Whatever, Kate. I'd be GLAD to hear Kate isn't going back to the island.
-- Oh shut UP, Kate. You damned hypocrite. Kate lecturing Locke on personal relationships is like Hurley providing guidance on dieting.
-- Aww. No more Katey Segal. :(
-- I enjoy a good postulation about fate.
-- AND HOLY CRAP DEAD DRIVER IS DEAD
-- Ouch. Locke gets hurt a lot, my gosh.
-- Hello, Jack. :O
-- All of Jack's attempts to grow facial hair and change his hairstyle are complete disasters. Just imagine if he combined his beard with his awful old hair? Oh man.
-- Skeptical Jack is skeptical.
-- Jack is a dick.
-- BOOM CHRISTIAN'D
-- That lighting made Jack look evil.
-- "DEAR JACK: SUCK IT. FROM LOCKE. P.S. DIE PLZ"
-- Here is where dear Locke kills himself??
-- It's Ben. :O
-- Ben with the ol' flattery.
-- OK, if Locke isn't going to kill himself, there's just one other way for him to die right now.
-- Ben is learning much right now.
-- Ben seems surprised to hear this. Interesting.
-- ... And here we go. Crazy Ben returns!
-- Meticulous to the end, Mr. Linus.
-- That hanged Locke shadow is creepy.
-- "The timing would just confuse you." He's not the only one.
-- Poor people are hurtedededed.
-- lol, of course it's Ben. It's hilarious that any time there's an opportunity to hurt Ben, the writers go for it with gusto.

One of my favorite sportswriters, Bill Simmons, has a concept he deemed the Tyson Zone (named after Mike Tyson) in which an athlete or celebrity does something that would normally be insane, but because that person does it, nobody bats an eye. Ben is pretty much there for me now. He snaps and kills Locke, and I didn't even blink. Good lord. Anyway, good episode -- nice to get the lowdown on what Locke did, although the bits with Ben and Widmore are easily the best parts. Again, I like that loyalties are being questioned and that the line between "good" and "bad" is becoming quite hazy. Ben has always been out for himself, of course, but there was a thought that he might do what's best for the island -- but it appears as though he's doing what's best for the island that is also in his best interest. Widmore's alliances are getting shifted a bit, too. I'm still skeptical of him for now, but trusting him is no more dangerous than trusting Ben, really.
