I could not give less of a shit about Kate or her stupid backstory, so that part of the episode is a massive fail for me. However, more Miles and especially Miles interacting with Hurley helped that a bit. Also lol'd at the irony of Jack inadvertently helping Ben along the path of evil. Lastly, I am not at all sure I want to think about what goes on in that temple that would make Little Ben lose his innocence. I smell creepy fanfiction ...
EDIT: ... Also, yeah, I definitely sound like a fangirl when writing these. *shot*
EDIT2: A question to those who watch the show -- am I being unfair to Kate right now? The way I look at it, yeah, she did some unselfish things for, like, the first time in her life, but I'm not ready to heap praise on her and deem her the Virgin Kate. I have no problems with the way Kate's flashbacks were written (for once), but her character has been so thoroughly repulsive to me for so long that I can't care about her anymore. I don't want to say she's completely beyond redemption, but she's about as close to it as you can get. If this is the start of her actually being a decent person, then I might be willing to change my tune. For now I'm skeptical, though.
