The tray of food clattered to the floor. I covered my mouth, resisting the urge to retch all over the floor.

“Greetings, abominables,” Monoguin’s voice rose from the speakers. “A body has just been discovered! The Monoguin File has been sent to your tablets. After a brief investigation period, we will hold our first class trial! Brbrbrheeeheee!”
Ding! Ding! Ding!
No… she couldn’t be…
I felt Tamaka lay a hand on my shoulder. “There’s… nothing we can do for her, now,” she said sadly, voice shaking.
I shook my head, attempting to calm myself down. “No, there is something we can do. Figure out who killed her.” I pulled my tablet from my back pocket and the screen flashed to life. Sure enough, there was the supposed Monoguin File.
Monoguin File #001:
- Victim: Kamada Shizuka
- The corpse was discovered in her own bedroom
- She was heavily pierced in the side and bled out. There is also evidence of a blow to the head with a blunt, heavy object.
I tucked the device away and stared at the crime scene. Kamada… we’ll figure it out. I swear it.
