My main website
http://www.xxwillowstudios.webs.com/Okay I know I have been reduced to lurker mode recently, stalking around the O and not saying much but I have been so busy. Seriously it's something new every week and that something usualy takes up my time 24/7.
So I'm going to try to post a bit more today but if I don't here is the link to my main website/gallery. As well as my artists bio, and FAQ. It's all there.
And it has pretty colors. http://www.xxwillowstudios.webs.com/
Oh, and I kind of made that sound like I was leaving the O, but I'm not xD
Hopefull I'll have more updates today.
Over and out
*insert creative title*
Yes, as you can see, at 8:00 in the morning, all of my brain cells are still sound asleep, while others ran away in the middle of the night. So I have no creative title.
I just bent over in the chair to pick up a peice of paper and I got stuck inbetween the arm of the chair and the back of it, yeah, clever huh?
So anyways, I might not be doing digital art for a while, I just spilled a whole bottle of isopropanol all over my tablet. Bad news, I have no tablet, good news, that means since it was a little cheap bamboo fun tablet, I get to upgrade.
Perhaps in my subconcious I really wanted a better tablet so I intentionaly spilled the alcohol all over it, heh, the world shall never know.
It's been raining here like crazy, which is nice, it's been rather hot here. The only sad thing is I can't bring my artwork outside to work on it anymore. But that's cool. I love the sound of rain with the church bells tolling in the background.
Hopefully by today I will have some new work up. Hopefully. I was going to just take a picture of all of my finished and half finished peices for kind of a sneak peak, but my camera is no where to be found. So you will have to wait. Plus the upside with no sneak peek is you don't have to see my messy studio in the background, no really, there's a studio monster in there, it eat's pencil shavings and my inspiration.
Just got back
So I finally got back from the Chris Cox clinic. For those poor souls out there who do not know who Chris Cox is, he is a world class horse trainer. And I got to see him in person for all three days of the clinic. Best of all, it was all free.
Some parts of the clinic were really boring, sitting there for eight hours can mentally drain you. But it was fascinating to learn from this guy. I am now really excited to go outside and try these new tips that I picked up on my own horse.
I found out that I was right on a lot of the theories I had for training my horse, and all this time I had been told that I was wrong. So along with the extra knowledge that I picked up, I now have a small boost in my confidence in training my horse.
We also had to buy some of his videos, and ended up buying I think 18-20 videos. Don't ask how much that cost, no really, you do not want to know. So now I can immerse myself in horsy goodness and hopefully perfect my performance horse. Kat(her name is actually spelled with a K) is an athlete and was born from some of the top performance horses out there, and I know that we have not gotten her to her full potential yet. Hopefully these videos will help me reach that.
The one thing that drove me morbidly insane however, was the immense amount of flies that were circling me and the other viewers. It reminded me of something similar to a black plague. I was half expecting to get carried off by the little suckers.
So after three days, the clinic is finally over, and I can return to my art life. I finished my last commissions, so all slots are open again, and I can get my butt to work.
Anime vs. Manga
This is my opinion on manga and anime.
I am sure that nearly everyone out there has fallen in love with a certain manga. And then you are even more thrilled to find out that there is an anime that goes along with it. But does anyone ever find that with every anime that is fashioned after the manga, has something missing from it?
It's always cool to see your favorite characters in live action, and hear what their voice sounds like. But you have to admit, sometimes it can be a bit dissapointing. Maybe you pictured your character to act or move differently in live action, or maybe you thought the voice would be different.
When you read a book, or manga, your brain builds up a mental image of that character. You analyze and record the impression you get from the book and store it in your mind. Then when you see the anime it's like
Anyways, moving on to the second issue with anime. Manga, even though mostly pictures, forces you to read. Many mangas, such as one of my favorites. "Death Note." Is plum full of good dialog and great conversations. Anime however cuts much of that dialog to cram all of the show into a thirty minute session. Not to mention manga flexes your brain (not as much as a real book of course but you get my point)but with anime you sit on the couch while your brain zones out.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate anime. The artist and animators pour all of their talent into the shows they create, well most of them anyways. So now that you know what I prefer, let's hear what your choice is.
Crayons are not for eating
You always hear it on those funny sitcoms, the infant of the family (ranging from 1-3 years) eats something they shouldn't. Wether it be glue, change, crayons, or the family pet (joking about the whole pet thing) Then you see the whole family freak out in an over dramitic fashion.
I've never really had that happen to me befor, until last night when I was babysitting my little neice.
Lucy is 2 and a half years old, blonde curley hair, and she loves to cause chaos. After she finished the dinner I cooked for her and dumped half of it on her head, I took her in the living room so she scribble on paper and watch a movie to help her unwind and fall asleep for the night.
I set out the crayons and paper and she instantly started in on the drawing. I turned around to pick up something and as soon as I turn back around there is green drool all over her face and she is chewing on a crayon while grinding another one into the carpet. Thank god they were non toxic. So I took her into the bathroom and rinsed out her mouth and wiped it off. I also gave her a lot of water to help wash it out of her system. Lesson to be learned? never turn your back on a child for a second, you never know what they'll do next. So maybe I'll move the crayon box up one shelf higher
