Here's the corrected first snippet (thanks again Becky!) and what follows. I hope it's not too jarring the way I change focus in character[s] and time line[s]. I tried placing this 'intersection' later on but it didn't feel right to me. Obviously the part after the intersection needs to be tweaked to flow better and it's in its rough stage still. For now I'm just wanting to toss it all out there.
