*Morgan*
“HOW THE HELL CAN THEY DO NOTHING!!!!!” Cody shouted as she paced. As usual her ranting wasn’t aimed at any one person present, but since Chester was present (and because I had made him tell her about the council’s decision) it was kinda aimed at him. “This is utterly RIDICULOUS!!! I can’t BELIEVE it!!! They KNOW her powers are growing, yet they do NOTHING!!!!!”
“Well what do you expect them to do, launch a full scale kid knapping?”
“SHUT UP CHESTER!!!”
I sat quietly in the corner, watching as her and twitched toward her gun.
“Of course not…” she paused in her pacing to try and calm down (which was impossible and she knew it, didn’t mean she wouldn’t try though.) “But I expect them to do SOMETHING! Most of all I expect them to take RESPONSIBILITY, and to let SOMEONE fix this. To let SOMEONE tell her the truth and offer her protection and training, not hide in their mansions and give UNDERCORVER SUPERVISION!!!”
“But Cody…” I said, finally speaking up, it was probably time I helped Chester out some… before she shot him, “her parents asked that no one tell her about any of it until at the least she was 18 if it could be helped. The council promised them that, and since we are the squad in charge of her protection and stuff we all took an oath to comply to their wishes, WHILE THEY WERE ALIVE… you took that oath too Cody, and you know as well as I do that an oath to a Sinclair or even a Smith, isn’t broken too easily.” I stared at her, hoping she would understand… or at think about it long enough to calm down and decide it wasn’t smart to shoot me…
“But… it’s not just a whim…” she looked almost sad when she said this and pulled out her phone. “I got a message from Snow and Blaze this morning… I already forwarded it to B and he followed her to school and said he would stick around her until we could figure something out, but…” her voice faded and she held up her phone for me and Chester to see the message.
From: Snowman
We lost them… we are on our way, but they are probably almost there already. We found the body of a sacrifice, so they were probably able to make it back most of the way from Brazil… we’ll hurry back as fast as we can.
I stared blankly in shock… this was bad… super bad.
Cody closed her phone. “Snow is right, with a sacrifice they were probably able to make it at least to Kentucky, if not farther. They will probably be here in New York in a matter of days.”
“Now I see why you were extra upset.” I said as I shifted and flicked my gaze over the bullet holes in the wall… “But, we still can’t do anything unless we see them, AND they start to attack her… which I find ridiculous, but there’s nothing we can do but wait…” It saddened me to say it but it was true… we had to wait around like sitting ducks and do nothing.
“Well… there is SOMETHING we can do…” She looked at me thoughtfully, then at Chester, then back at me. “We can step up security.”
Chester raised his hand, doing his best not to get on her nerves. “Ummm, how??? None of us can get any closer to her. B is already following her, and there is only the four of us here.”
“What exactly makes you think NONE of us can get any closer???” She asked him while continuing to stare at me.
I could tell she was planning something, “What are you getting at Cody???” I really didn’t like the look she was giving me.
She turned around and walked towards the wall not facing me, “It’s simple. Morgan you are going to enroll in school and stay with Patricia for a while.”
“WHAT!!!!!” I was practically screaming, I stared at her in horror.
“Well, B is already watching her, so he can’t. I’m too busy, plus I couldn’t do it… some of those humans are too….. Well aggravating. And Chester’s….. too Chester.”
“Hey what’s that supposed to mean!?!?!” Chester yelled, “offended” (we all knew he wasn’t actually offended when one of us said things like that but he didn’t like to appear as a push over.)
“Shut up Chester, you know what it means.”
“No…. nononononono no!!! There is no way I can do that!!!” I was horrified… But I knew there was no way out of it… She already decided that it was what we were going to do.
“It’ll be fine Morgan.” She said… with that I knew it was 100% final, my shoulders sagged, this was going to be awful.
“Oh come on Morgan, it’ll be fun for you,” Chester said with a grin.
“Just shut up Chester.”
okey dokey, so this one wasnt as long, but the ones in Morgan's point of view arent as long since she isnt exactly the main character in this part. mostly im using the peices in her point of view to break up the story and give a bit of foreshadowing :D. any way this is going better than i thought it would, next up Cody's Bio then Chapter 6 :D
