A little bit exhausted . . .

Most years when I do these Remembrance Day posts, I've usually learned about the stories before I start writing about them. I'll usually know most of what I want to say and then I put it all to e-pen with some notes and details as I go.

This year, I'm pretty much going in blind. I'm writing the write-up AS I research it. This is not the most efficient means to do this.

Still, won't lie, I never knew these stories before and I'm glad I know about them now. With that in mind, the late writing nights will always be worth it . . .

I've never heard this one before . . .

(Excerpt from a phone conversation at work the other day re: photo pick-ups:)

"Hello?"
"Hi, Mr. Zhang?"
*silence...*
"...hello?"
"Hello?"
"Hello, Mr. Zhang?"
"Who is this?"
"This is the Real Canadian Superstore photo department in Richmond."
"Mr. Zhang is my son! He lives in Seattle!"
"... Mr. Chen Xing Zhang?"
"Yes, that's me."

My mind was so blown that day. Soooo blown.

Anyway, still lookin' for war stories if anyone has one they want me to share. Days're gettin' close.

Any of you guys have any war stories you wanna see me write about? That time of the year's coming up again, and so far I only have the Battle for the Hochwald Gap planned.
