Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

BRB, Nobuo Uematsu . . .

I'm going to the Distant Worlds concert tonight. Nobuo will be there.

I'm excited.

If I'm not too lazy, I'll do a write-up similar to my Yoshida Brothers piece.

Journeys In The West . . .

Crikes, a lot is/has been happening over here! Alright, point-form it is! Re: High School Reunion: As mentioned before, the reunion went really well. Of a graduating class of abou...

Web Work Fatigue . . .

Okay, not really, but still.

Last week's high school reunion was really good. When I'm less lazy or less working-like, I'll do a better blog post about it. And yes, "I write for a website" came up plenty.

Also, lemon cakes.

Anyway, I'll blog about how the reunion went next time. Short of it: it went really well. I may have to hang out with people again now.

Two Hours To Go . . .

It's about 4pm today, only a couple hours until that high school reunion. Also, stupid Stephen (the guy whose wedding I saved and the father of my godson) got trapped at work and is gonna be pretty late. Bastard.

Alright, this is the best I've come up with in terms of what I've done with my life the past ten years:

  • Finished school, got a degree, learned how to put a damn fine argument together if need be.
  • Currently write for a website, posting weekly articles as well as news bits around the net. I also organize annual international meet-ups in Seattle. Not great pay, but it's doing what I love to do.
  • Spent a lot of it adventuring, learning new skills, travelling to exciting new lands, meeting interesting people.
  • Have since been to China and to Europe, going as far as Sweden (which is awesome because I had a Swedish friend in high school).
  • One brother became a police officer, another brother an acclaimed minor hockey coach.
  • Learned to sew.
  • I carve ridiculously badass jack'o'lanterns every Halloween.
  • Moved out to the big expensive city, renting a cozy little apartment and currently battling a zerg infestation.
  • Own a car, can drive stick.
  • Entered a couple film races where I die all the time.
  • Took a charming, sassy, profane young girl as a sort of protege, sharing my life experience in hopes that she grows far more successful than I ever will.
  • Almost got a job as a scriptwriter during the worst time to look for work.
  • Came really, really close to finding "the one" until we accepted that it wasn't going to work out. That'll be a good story . . .
  • Have an amazing group of friends all over the world with whom I share a deep, even at times excessive history. All of whom would do anything for each other.
  • Eat a lot of bacon.

I think I'll start with that.
