Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

Tank Commanders . . .

Hey look what Amenonine found on Facebook:

Oh PAX . . . remind me that I really need to write out that whole epic story of how a baker's dozen of friends dropped everything one week so they could cosplay Valkyria Chronicles for a night 3 hours away from home. Bet that'd be a fun story to tell . . .

Beyond that, still don't know any updates about Spain-trapped friend. Need to poke people on Facebook about that, I reckon.

Girls . . . Seriously . . .

So this friend of mine goes off to Europe for the month. Going to France, Italy, and Spain. Left the start of September, plan was to come back next weekend (Canadian Thanksgiving).

Night before she left, I messaged her,
"Come back safe, now. I really don't wanna hafta come to Europe to rescue you if I can help it. 'Cause I would."
"Pfft... hero complex..." she messaged back.
"Always." I typed.

And yeah. This morning, my friend tells me she left a message on her Facebook saying she lost her passport and money in Madrid. He logged in and showed me about ten minutes ago. She's gonna be a few days late and will be many hundreds of dollars lighter by the end of this whole deal.

Seriously, this better not be one of those stupid tests where the girl just wants to see if you'd actually follow through or something . . .

New Ways To Enjoy Castle . . .

I finally picked up Heat Wave after, I suppose, a year of not reading it. I'm excited. Also picked up Naked Heat since that just came out too, but that's not for me so sadly I cannot read that just yet.

Also, didn't mention earlier this week, but I am absolutely digging Glamourous!Beckett this season with the long straight hair. Spent a fair amount of the weekend watching Season 2 episodes, so jumping back into the third season with Glamourous!Beckett is amazing. Beyond that, they actually worked a "Double Rainbow" joke into the new episode. And that was amazing.

Also, Castle needs to hurry up and dump his ex-wife already. Though I know they can't do that right away, so really, they just need to give us more episodes of Castle faster so we can get to that point quicker. Just sayin'.

Glee was a'ight. I don't care too much about Britney Spears, so whatever. However, naked butt sweat did make me snicker.

Other important television from that night . . . ah yes! Being Erica is back up again! Good ol' domestic time-travel dramedy that is apparently huge internationally and will soon be remade in the UK. Go fig'. I should really grab DVDs of this some time . . . if for nothing else, than to point the show out when people come over and go "hey, you people need to watch this!"

But not right now. Must consolidate moneys. Car and whatnot.

Lo, It Is Decided . . .

I shall now watch Sengoku Basara. Since Anime Evolution, I have been getting omens to watch this. And then the podcast used the song from it. Thus, it is decided.

Whether cosplay later stems from this, we shall have to wait and see.

What Would Be Your Personal Soundtrack?

You ever hear a song where you just went, "wow, that is such a me song"? After hearing a string of such songs these past few weeks, I thought it could be a fun little exercise to put together a track list of the music to describe how you...
