Welcome to my world.
I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.
And I work for this site.
And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).
Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.
If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

All y'alls have a good one. I'll tell you about mine another time after it happens, though. For now, I'm raccoon-eyed like when I was still in school and super wired and tired. You'd think with a schedule leading up to Christmas as packed as I've had, I'd have no time to think, even!
Nah.
Merry Christmas, guys. I wish you all the best, even if sometimes I don't seem like I do.
Yo, Mr. East! I laughed loud and hard as I opened up the big ol' FedEx mailer. First off, I wanna say kudos on having someone to net you a staff discount for courier delivery - very well played.
It was hilarious to go pick up the package not even knowing who had sent it. Then I heard the lady there mention Ontario. I just kinda went "ahhhh . . . so that's who sent it. Nice, nice!" Then as the pieces fell together as she mentioned city and a name, I just smiled wider and wider. Very very well played, sir.
That said, I love the card and I am going to crack up a whole buncha people with the finger lasers. I actually kinda wanna frame this card now bceause it's just that kickass and it'd decorate my computer nook quite nicely.
Thanks!
So as for that "+1" I mentioned . . . regular mail came by today as well, so I'll be picking that up tomorrow afternoon. I'm very curious as to what it may be. Should be fun . . .
. . . oh how I love this time of year. It's just fun.
Y'know, this guy's my best friend and even though now it'll be an hour of my time to drive him home and back . . . I just can't feel bad about it.
See, I picked up my parents et al from the airport this evening. I had just stopped back at my apartment (close to the airport) to drop off a bag of laundry and double-check their flight info.
I put my computer to sleep and took two steps before going, "oh crap, I forgot to check their flight status!" As the computer was still in the process of going to sleep, I didn't hit the power button like usual but just clicked the mouse a bunch of times . . .
. . . the computer started powering down. Then the fan revved up super fast. Again.
And then it died. Again. Didn't take longer than a week.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
Anyway, picked up Ed after driving the folks et al home, he came over. Within the next 15 minutes of fiddling around, resetting my BIOS . . . computer was back.
So I've learned two things from this, one of which I had already known. The first is that I shall forever now never put my computer to sleep - Ed said it himself, "yeah, I never put my computer to sleep, it always messes it up." Fair enough. I guess I shall never do that anymore.
The second - the thing I always knew - is that Ed is basically the greatest guy in the world. Sure he talks like a sleaze sometimes, hates everyone, and lives far away . . . but he's awesome.
And as long as he can always help me fix my computer, I will always be willing to drive him around a bit. But not as much now, since he has a car and can drive now.
Which is more awesome.
Okay . . . so APPARENTLY . . . just as it was the last time, I - either through fault of my own or through fault of some automatic update - had mucked up my BIOS settings. Now given that I wouldn't even know how to BEGIN with messing up said BIOS settings, I'm gonna make the guess that I didn't do it. But, it is what it is, I guess.
Also, I'm thinking that Windows 7 upgrade is lookin' mighty interesting right about now . . .
. . . that said, I'm back. Let's see how long this one lasts.
