Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

Love At First Episode . . .

I've officially decided that Nathan Fillion is a performer who I would watch in anything.

Case in point, I bought season one of Castle on Wednesday after I sold a set to a woman on Tuesday. I had never seen an episode of it in my life, and of the half I did see, I was on the computer so I wasn't really paying attention.

One episode later, I can already say I love this show. I guess I'll add Castle to my regular television this year.

Shiny.

Work Hilarity

I totally got peer pressured into buying toilet paper last night. But hey, it's 24 Royale double-rolls for $7.98, which is practically half price for that. Had to do it.

Beyond that . . . picked up Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 and Beatles: Rock Band without spending moneys (pre-order birthday present for the former, gift card for the latter).

Should make for a fun week.

Now if only I would stop coughing . . .

Sorry podcast . . .

Last week without captions, I promise. Just still too sick to focus on this stuff . . .

The Big Damn Recap

So my computer was down and out for almost three weeks. Something in the grand scheme of programming just didn't want to mesh suddenly, which led to an issue that could have happened had I overclocked my machine or something. Except I didn't. So I'm kinda upset about that whole deal. In any case, I'm back now.

So let's go over some of the stuff that happened while I was away . . .

Re: The PS3: Batman: Arkham Asylum was ridiculously awesome. Played the hell out of it, enjoyed every moment of it. It's all just put together almost perfectly. Very satisfying to swoop around as the Goddamned Batman. Heck, I even nailed 100% on the trophies and nailed my very first Platinum!

The fact that I beat my Trophy-whore-esque friend to it just makes it all the more hilarious.

Re: The Roommate: The house is really quiet these days now that the little one is off to school. With internet dead, I haven't had chances to see anyone online, so we're all surely curious and excited to know how she's doing.

Re: Living Situation: I'm looking for places right now. Smaller, cheaper places. In fact, I have one I could take that'd save me a couple hundred dollars a month, but at the same time would also double my work commute. Still, I'll probably take it . . . now the only thing I need to work around is my one-month's notice for upstairs . . . or something. Yeah, figuring this stuff out in the middle of the month never works out quite right.

Re: Health: At work there was a weekend of no-tax days followed by Labour Day. After the dust settled, I had a cold or something. I joke that it may be H1N1 - evidently my conceit is such that I actually believe myself to be strong enough to not die should I ever contract it - but it's probably not. In any case, coughing now, and it sucks.

Re: Transportation: This is the big one for this update. Apparently, fighting for hours and working out monthly rent and whatnot on my own wasn't enough responsibility for myself . . .

. . . I now get to add car insurance and maintenance to the list. I own a car now.

It's my brother's old car. He had been trying to sell it for a while now after he bought his truck. So my parents stepped in, proposed that they buy the car off him for me (I've been using my mom's car on an extended loan up until this week). The reasoning that allows me to, well, allow this, is thus:

-My mom has helped all of us with our first cars.
-She gets her car back
-My brother gets his car sold off
-I will still have a vehicle
-I can drive stick; my mother cannot

Let it be known that I've never considered myself as anything other than lucky. In any case, the brother's stipulations for my owning the car were that I pay for insurance, and that I keep its maintenance up and good. Can't really say no to that, can I?

So yeah. It's been an eventful couple weeks. So what do I need to catch up on over here? Aside from DisNaruto drama?

I'm Back!

And also, how the HELL did I get an overclock death-type error when I never did that in the first place?! That better not have been from the automatic updates (the other theory) . . . balls.

In any case, I'm back. I'll get to work soon as I can.

Also, I have all kinds of news to report, so I'll do that tonight. Lots of stuff's gone down the past couple weeks, y'know.
