Beautiful Day Today

I'm very happy to see that the weather's really nice today. We're planning a Valkyria Chronicles cosplay photoshoot by a lake today, and rain would have really screwed that over. On the downside, I think a few people can't make it anymore. So it looks like it might only be . . . 5 or 6 of us? What can I say, I love my giant cosplay group, I'm always sad when we can't all make it. It's just fun, y'know?

So aside from that, let's see . . . Oh, I watched Shutter Island last night while I was falling asleep and with a headache (side note: it sucks to have a headache while watching a movie about a guy who's having migraines and who may or may not be going crazy). So verdict? Pretty good, easy on the eyes, interesting enough plot. Pretty much the worst thing this movie could have done is tell you that "you won't believe the shocking twist at the end!" The second you do that, you let people start thinking, "okay, so there's a big twist that we'd never believe, so let's start thinking drastically for a second . . ." Won't say I guessed the end quite right, but I passed by the pieces in my mind enough that when it all came together, I went "yeah, okay, alright." So yeah, it's a'ight.

Quiz results! So that was a fun little event. Mad props to Indi who pretty much remembers everything she's ever heard about anything or anyone - that's powerful skills, and you even edged out the person who I lived with for a year. That takes power. Also, of hilarious interest: every person who scored 40% on "Know Your SomeGuy" correctly knew my birth city. I found that amusing.

Going back to cosplay, I'm about to start working on the dress uniform from Valkyria Chronicles. Reckon it'd go well for Masquerade Balls at the cons. That said, the whole bunch of us are finally starting to organize the Masquerade Ball for Anime Evolution. Here's hoping we don't fail - there's lots of potential with years of masquerade experience now, so we should be okay. We'd better, really.

Is that about it? Yeah, that's about it.

Here, have a YouTube of a little asian kid playing the ukelele. You'll feel better for it.
