Was back at the ancestral home in New West for dinner the other night. Speaking of which: WE WON! Thanks again, guys!
Anyway, while my laundry was washing, my brother pulled out his new baby he picked up recently: a brand new compound bow to fuel his archery hobby. Slick little thing that he more or less got for half price after trading in his old bow and some other stuff. But yeah, very slick, very nice looking - and from what he told me when he gave it a go on the range, it was also very precise.
It also had a 60 pound draw-weight. That's a rather solid draw weight that's about as high as most average modern bows will dare to go. This is also the weight at which killing deer and moose is possible.
And yeah. I couldn't draw it. Those particular back and shoulder muscles just haven't been developed enough for me to use bows of that kind of pull.
And then I felt shame.
I guess I'll stick to swords.
