This past weekend was very performance heavy. On Saturday we had a lion dance and kung-fu performance at the Chinatown Night Market, which went surprisingly well. I just mean in that pretty much everyone did okay, not too many mistakes . . . and in general we were just having fun. Heh, and once again I got to freak out at just how many kids are actually part of the club now. More importantly, though, I got to mess around with that big ol' monk spade a little more . . . I loves mah zombie-killa . . .
Next day after that, we had another lion dance downtown at the Plaza of Nations. I'm still not sure what the event was for, but the whole thing involved a big convention hall/room, 5 different martial arts clubs (with 2 lions each), and a 20-man dragon - that thing was massive! Anyway, our club only needed 4 people and not many people had the free time, so I worked as a tail for another guy. Compared to the Night Market performance, this thing was a total gong show - everything was late, 5 different clubs all with their own styles and stuff had a 5 minute crash course to learn to put on a presentation together, and all in all it was just ridiculous. But whatever, it's done, we helped our fellow club . . . done.
Then I came home and started headshotting PMCs in Metal Gear. It ended well enough.
Random SomeGuy Trivia: my kung-fu group uses Naruto music in our stage performances (along with the more traditional Chinese movie songs); I'm also currently getting the guy to mix "Kodo" by the Yoshida Brothers into the mix.
Oh! One more thing . . . Kei, if you see this before tomorrow and still wanna do that Tuesday guest post thingy, get back to me before it's too late! Otherwise, waywardwarrior, it's all yours.
