First thing's first: HOLY FUCK AWESOME EPISODE OF CASTLE TONIGHT!!!
Anyway . . .
Woke up late for Halloween since I had a 5-10pm work shift scheduled. Kinda stupid, most days this month I've had glorious dayshift, but the normal Monday closing guy has kids he needs to take out for trick-or-treating, so I'll let it slide. This time.
Played Batman: Arkham City for a bit. If I haven't mentioned it yet, it's absolutely awesome and it picks up all the best bits of the first game and makes them all even better. So yeah, fantastic game. And you get to punch a shark. Anyway, there's definitely a trophy/achievement for talking to Calendar Man 12 times in the year on specific holidays, so I heard a fun Halloween story from him. That's kinda neat.
Anyway, went to work dressed up as Flynn Rider from Tangled. It's been my best costume of the year, so I figured one more spin in its tour of duty oughta do it some good. Got a good reaction from the guys at work, though I still found it disappointing I was the ONLY guy in the whole store dressed up! Supposedly we had a partial Captain America from my buddy earlier in the day but I missed that. So yeah, just me. Shift went by fast enough, though. In any case, I decided it'd be good for laughs to play Tangled on the TV next to the counter while I was working - just makes sense, y'know?
Through the night I got a couple texts from my friend (the one with my godson) and my brother.
Buddy told me my "Creepy Woody" pumpkin won the "creepiest" honour at his townhouse complex. I was pretty happy with that (though apparently everyone online thinks it's a Trollface. Ah well).
So yes, filling in about the pumpkins . . . this year was a bit complicated. My parents are out of town right now, I was gonna be working and my little brother had a hockey practice to do. No one was going to be giving out candy at the ancestral home. And, as I've mentioned before, it's a shame for a house on the same street as an elementary school to not be ready for Halloween. But this year was gonna be fail. And I wasn't going to have a reason to make a pumpkin . . .
. . . so my buddy jumped in and went "Hey, you can make pumpkins at my place!"
Done. Deal. So four of us got to carving:
So here are my pumpkins for this year! One inspired by Happy from Fairy Tail, and one inspired by Creepy Woody:

"Creepy Woody" (now mistakenly known as Trollface) up close:
So yeah, apparently the townhouse complex was giving out prizes for pumpkins. Last I heard, people were really digging "Creepy Woody". So yeah, Stephen, I hope you won a gift card or two tonight!
Anyway, I got to make a pumpkin or two this year. Thank goodness.
Then I got a funny text from my brother:
"where's the ninja???" he's working...somewhere else...tonight.
As always, the kids in the old neighbourhood recall my ninja-dressing shenanigans well. And apparently they asked my brother about it.
So wait . . . what happened to the hockey practice? Turns out that was cancelled last-minute, so my brother DID hand out candy tonight! Even rushed-together a pumpkin and everything!
I'm proud of him. Kids deserve candy from that house, damnit!
So this year's Halloween seems like it should have gone well enough. I'm pleased. And now I get to go to bed for work tomorrow morning. Yay.
Also, Uncharted 3 tomorrow/today. Don't expect to see me online after this. Like, ever.
