Goodness!!!

So holy crap, the past two days have been somewhat ridic'.

Thursday morning, I'm up and out of the shower by about 11am, and like usual I make my way over to the computer to check morning-type stuff with a toothbrush in my mouth. Bit of theO, bit of AE's forums . . .

. . . decide it might be prudent to check on the Little One's flight status and see if it's still on time or not . . . turns out it's about 15 minutes early right now . . .

. . . . . crap.

Well, I hauled ass out of the house at that point, rushing to the airport half an hour away to pick the girl up. Great start, eh?

Just as I got to the airport parking lot, she calls me to tell me she's out and at the baggage carousel and that they had touched down pretty much half an hour earlier than expected. Insanity . . . well, found the girl just as her bag came around, so yay for good timing!

Alexanity, Day 1:

After leaving the airport, we headed to Richmond and Aberdeen Mall - the same asian mall I brought Adam to in June. We watched a fountain show for a bit before we realised we'd much rather eat lunch. So up we went to the food court where they had bubble tea, noodles, pho, and oh yes . . . okonomiyaki!

I hadn't had okonomiyaki in a long-assed time and Alexa had never had it period. So it was damn good times . . . and shockingly, that stuff is a lot more filling than it looks! So yay for full bellies.

After that, we drove down to Steveston Harbour to check things out, look at the water and what I thought would be a cool market with people buying fish straight off the boats and stuff . . . and after getting lost for the better part of half an hour, finally found the historical town area to be devoid of all eventful anythings. Burn. Ah well . . .

Right on the cusp of rush hour, we headed home just in time to see off the parents and the family friends as they went off to play golf. We, instead, played Rock Band . . . and yes, guitar and vocals were often simultaneous.

At some point, the aniki called and said he needed to drop off Snoopy for a bit so he could go back to a computer store about stuff; so Alexa met Snoopy, fell in love with him and whatnot like all peoples . . . and then we played Soul Calibur 4 for a while.

When the old people came back home, we all had some take-out Chinese dinner where I got to play translator for the white girl in the room who didn't spend the majority of her life in Hong Kong (unlike my stepdad who is also quite white, mind you). But yeah, it was good times - also, she lucked out in that my stepdad's first question to her was "do you like wine?" as opposed to "how old are you?"

Hehe, the 19 years old thing's gonna drive her nuts in the future, I just know it . . .

Other than that, the girls seems to have taken a liking to my mother, so that's cool. So after dinner . . . she met my brothers as they either came home from work or came by to pick up dogs. So far so good.

After dinner we headed back down to possibly play a little more Soul Calibur (I forget). What I do remember, though, is that I made her watch the first volume of GTO. That was good times . . . . . bwahaha . . .

She eventually wanted to jog, so she prepped herself for the treadmill while I prepped Moulin Rouge in the PS3 (she suddenly had a craving to watch it). So we watched that while sweltering in the heat of the ridiculously hot day.

Rest of the night was just YouTube, theO chats, and Cat Face and Dr. Horrible. That was enjoyable. Then we got to sleep.

Alexanity, Day 2:

So yesterday, we woke up a little late but happy and then went out for lunch at IHOP (her first time there), along with meeting up with a few of her friends (total geeks, totally friendly, loved them). Pancakes and hashbrowns later (and learning that Alexa dips her toast in ketchup - sick), we drove out to Stanley Park . . .

Along the way, we took the scenic route through Vancouver's world-famous East Hastings Street. All the Albertans in the car got to be floored by the amount of insane drug addicts everywhere in the absolutely slummiest part of Vancouver.

Yeah, we locked the doors to the car.

After getting to Stanley Park, we opted to go to the aquarium since one of Alexa's friends knew a guy who could get us in for free (or else we'd otherwise be paying $25 a head!). Well, the friend wasn't there, but the aquarium guys still gave us the hand-stamps as a benefit of the doubt. So that was damn cool.

So yeah, went around the aquarium, saw fish, saw barnacles (which turned into a funny joke later in the day) . . . saw the aquarium's baby beluga whale that was only about 2 months old (cute little thing) . . .

. . . best part about watching the belugas was when the mother swam past the glass and took a dump. Apparently kids think it's magical pixie dust, but no, the trainer assured us it was just poop. So of course right afterwards we hear radio chatter:

"*ksshht!* Uh yeah, we just had another respir-err... defecation in the water..."

Oh how we laughed . . .

After the baby beluga, we more or less left after that (I had run out of parking and the friends had to make a dinner date). So we did a quick victory lap along the road that goes through/around the park before hauling ass back to the other side of Metro Vancouver.

Yeah . . . their dinner date was freakin' far out of my normal routes, so it took us a long while to get back to civilization for dinner . . . all you can eat sushi . . . bwahaha.

So Alexa ate octopus sushi. And the better part of a deep fried smelt (she couldn't eat the head - too far beyond her comfort zone [nyahaha]). But yeah, the girl did well for herself, trying out different foods and whatnot. So kudos to her! Oh, and also . . . what the hell? Is like, everyone around the world used to having miso soup with a spoon? Really? Everyone's always so shocked when I pick up the bowl and put it to my lips . . . you guyyyys . . .

Ummm . . . fat and bloated later, back home, dicked around online some more while she saw how we take care of Fan Words, messed with people in the chat with our symbioticness of my avatar and name and her words. Damn, we had way too much fun with that . . .

. . . then I got a phone call from a guy from the club reminding me of a lion dance tomorrow (today) . . .

. . . . . oops? So yeah. I guess Alexa gets to see a lion dance today!

Anyway, last night ended with an episode of Excel Saga and episode 15 of Peacemaker Kurogane (WITH commentary!). Fun was had.

And now I need to sleep. Payce!
