Just got home from The Third Annual Elans for Canadian Video Games and Animation. I'll write the big write-up tomorrow.
Also, I'm tired, so screw captions. Also tomorrow.
I will mention these bits for now, though:
- It honestly felt like we barely got in, like our names weren't quite on the list. But we got in.
- We were seated at table 24, with a Brian, David, Kai, and . . . a woman who left soon after.
- It turned out those first two people were Brian Dobson and David Nykl
- Left 4 Dead freakin' cleaned house.
- Tom Kenny taught us how to do the Spongebob Squarepants laugh.
- Tom Kenny is a freakin' funny guy even when he's not Spongebob.
- This award show was the first time Tom Kenny had ever won an award for doing Spongebob.
- Hayao Miyazaki won a lifetime achievement award tonight.
- Talked with a South African guy at our table a lot. He wants to move to Vancouver. Such is our city...
- Kicking myself for not bringing my camera.
I can't wait 'til next year. Hopefully we can go again, though Adam's contact (the organizer of the event) might not be there next year. Oh, also spoke to her a bit near the end - she's wonderful.
Thanks again for the hook-up, Adam.
