I suppose it was about a week ago when Arya helped me kill Belial. Since then I've been telling everyone who would care that I was now into Act 3. Some seem honestly impressed; others remind me that very few of us still play the game. Anyway, I am now only one of three people on my Battle.net list who can play in Act 3. Myself, Arya, and the one guy who had also just completely finished the game with his other friends, all difficulties. Act 3 is still my favourite act, and while the monsters are definitely much tougher I don't feel completely at a loss like I did in Act 2. I'm running into some elite groups that I can quite effectively take down, though also quite a few that I feel like I could had I a bit more DPS to my guy.
So back I go to farming to raise my dexterity and in the process my damage. My resistances are pretty good, my vitality is probably far higher than most of my friends at this level, and as I get a bit more money maybe I can take the edge off this "one hair between life and death" I've found myself in.
I mean, the other less time-intensive way to try to make my way through the act would be to team up with someone who could really bring the hurt with some really high DPS while I did what I could to keep the quick crawlies away from her...
...that'd be the ideal thing, anyway.
I don't really intend to stop playing Diablo 3 any time soon. I definitely still have a huge backlog of games to start or finish off and I'm sure I'll get back into taking care of those soon enough. But I have definitely noticed I'm not going back to the world of Sanctuary quite as often as I used to. Sometimes I'll pop in to check on my auctions, see if I have sold anything, and then log back out. And sure, maybe during that time I quickly check to see if Arya's in there as well - and usually she is. Girl may have gotten a little bit more addicted than the rest of us, I reckon.
Time travels fast, though, and I know people are now starting to gear up for Guild Wars 2. I don't expect everyone is going to jump straight to that and completely dump Diablo too quickly (though at the same time I know many people definitely will). So far I'm not planning on Getting Guild Wars 2. I enjoyed the first one enough and I did play it quite a bit. But again, it's one of those games that's really the most fun when you're running with your friends.
We'll cross that bridge when we get there, I guess. I probably have enough to think about right now as is, hey?
