Chapter 8- One down and one to go
Karin woke up and looked over to see Black*star asleep on her lounge. *I guess I’ll have to wake him up* she thought. She walked over to him, leaned close to his ear and yelled “Wake up star boy”. “Holy shit” he said as he fell of the lounge. Karin giggled and ran out to the kitchen. *She annoys me sometimes* he thought as he got off the ground and walked into the lounge room. “Haruhi make me pancakes” yelled Karin. “Fine but only because you got stabbed” she said as she came into the kitchen. “Why is he here?” Haruhi whispered to Karin. “He brought me home and then fell asleep” Karin whispered back. Haruhi sighed and said “Black*star do you want breakfast?” He jumped off the coach and ran to the table. “I take that as a yes” said Haruhi. “You better call your mother, I mean Tsubaki to let her know you’re fine” said Karin. He nodded and took the home phone from Haruhi. Karin watched as he talked to Tsubaki. *He so cute, wait what* she thought. “There, she understands the situation and will meet me at school” he said. Haruhi put the food on the table and then ran out the door yelling “I’m going to Soul’s, see ya later”. Karin sighed then looked over to Black*star. “Do you want to have an eating comp?” asked Karin. Black*star nodded and then they were off. They ended with a tie and major stomach ache. “Let’s get to school; Tsubaki must be waiting for me. She always waits for a big star like me” he said, taking the dishes into the kitchen and put them in the sink. “Come on” he said as he dragged Karin out the door. “I haven’t gotten dressed yet” yelled Karin. Black*star realised and blushed. “Get dressed but be quick about it” he said. Karin nodded and ran to her room. She came out wearing a black and red dress. “Let’s go” said Black*star picking Karin up bridal style and running tout the door. For most of the way to the DWMA Black*star used speed*star and Karin had to cling to him so she wouldn’t fall backwards. He put her down at the top of the steps. “Don’t do that again” said Karin. He smiled and then ran off to find Tsubaki. *Does he have a crush on Tsubaki?* thought Karin as she walked over to Haruhi and Soul. “How was your alone time with Black*star?” asked Haruhi with a smirk. “You planned this didn’t you? There is no way I’ll go out with him” said Karin. Haruhi frowned at something behind Karin. She turned around to find Black*star and Tsubaki standing there, there was a look of sadness and disappointment on Black*star. Karin looked down and ran into the DWMA. “I’ll go see if she’s ok” said Tsubaki. She walked into the DWMA and looked for Karin. She found her in the music room. Tsubaki could see through the window that Karin was sitting at two keyboards. Tsubaki opened the door a little and she could hear Karin playing ‘Adolescence by Kagamine Rin & Len’. She would play the actual piano on one keyboard and a more techno sound on the other. She was singing only the female parts of the song. “How sad, no partner to finish the song with her” whispered Tsubaki. She slowly closed the door and walked outside. “She’s playing two keyboards and singing, but she’s only singing the female parts” said Tsubaki. “That’s just her thing, I’ve noticed that she looks sad when she pauses for the male vocals to play” said Haruhi. “Maybe I should go sing with her” said Black*star. “No offence but you’re a terrible singer” said Soul. “I’ll show you” said Black*Star. He ran off down to the music room. Tsubaki was about to run after him when Soul stopped her. “Let him make his own mistakes” he said.
Black*star walked into the music room and Karin stopped playing. “Keep going please” said Black*star. Karin shook her head ‘no’. “I’ll sing with you” he offered. Karin tapped the spot next to her and Black*star sat down. Outside the room all the Soul Eater gang was listening. Karin sung heavenly but it was Black*star who surprised them. His and her voice rung out across the DWMA and everyone was soon listening. “I didn’t know Black*star could sing” said Maka. “Me nether” said Tsubaki with a smile. “Tsubaki, do you know about this?” asked Haruhi. “He’s been practising ever since Maka yelled at him” said Tsubaki. “He has an amazing voice” said Kid. The song ended and Karin stood up and walked to the door. Everyone went back to what they were doing when Karin opened the door. “Please, there is something I need to ask” said Black*star as he grabbed hold of Karin’s hand. “What do you want?” she asked. “I want you to be my goddess” said Black*star, looking down to hid his blush. “Why me, I’m a monster” said Karin. “I don’t care, as long as I have you nothing matters” said Black*star. He pulled her in for a kiss and she kissed back. “I’ll be with you always” he said. There was a whole lot of ‘aw’ echoing through the halls.
